The real question is will he still play for Kazakh NT after this fallout or will he pull a Karlsson.

How has Philip Holm been?

A bit of a mixed bag. He's a good skater, a good passer and has scored a couple of nice snipes from the blueline. The speed and lack of space in KHL seems to be an issue for him though as he's had some terrible giveaways and isn't always very confident with the puck. He has the right tools but his decision making needs to be better.

I guess it depends on who made the call to bench him in Nur-Sultan. If it was Mikhailis decision, Dietz might not want to play under him anymore at all. That said, there's plenty of time for Barys to fire Mikhailis himself and that automatically means NT gets a new coach too and potentially damaged relationship between Dietz and Kazakhstan can get fixed.

I think this kind of decision must have been made by someone higher up than a coach who is on the verge of getting fired. Which, at the same time, means that even if Mikhailis does get fired that won't fix anything. Considering Barys' really expensive acquisitions during the break it wouldn't surprise me if that's Barys brass who decided he isn't worth the money and want to get rid of him. Hence my doubts about his NT future.

Then again, if Dietz himself won't take it personally there is a lot of money in playing for NT so he won't even raise an issue about it. "Such is hockey business" and all that.

i'd be interested in your opinion about Tertyshny. is there NHL interest? what about Artyom Nikolayev?
He is in the midst of a beakout season as a 23 year old. First of all he will need to prove he can replicate that further and then he is no 18 year old kid doing all this. He might end up being a good KHLer, but not good enough for the NHL still. I don't necessarily see NHL potential at this point. He has as many chances as his teammate Lucas Sedlak at this point. If he significantly improves in the next couple of seasons, then there might be serious talk about the NHL.

Nikolayev has even less potential NHL wise. I am not even sure he will be a good to great KHLer in the future.

Kazan offloads Valiyev to Minsk for the rights of Julius Honka, that probably means there's agreement between him and Ak Bars.

After the new arrivals, they have 6 imports as is, two of them righty Ds, so I think that's just offloading Valiyev more than anything and might as well get something in return.

Both are not NHL material. Tertyshny is a very small winger, his stats are a bit inflated by playing with good players. Nikolayev plays for a weak team where he has OK but nothing special stats. Until he proves himself in SKA, he is not an NHL prospect.

joakim nordström, he seems to be doing better? 14 points in 26 games, and his strenght is defensive, pk and grit. so its not bad stats
Not too bad; however, you would want different strength from a foreign forward and they got him playing on pp
