Video KHL: Dinamo Riga vs Vityaz

Honestly I don't even blame the Vityaz goons for this, even though I am no fan of theirs or the stupid brand of "hockey" they play. The fault lays entirely on this ****** organization that should be relegated out of the KHL. They are the ones that are behind this. Their management, and I am not talking about Zhamnov and Nazarov but higher up, are the scum of the earth. I wish I could tell you guys my first hand experience with these people in the 90s. They are criminals of the lowest order. Luckily they will not be in the KHL much longer as their 3000 person arena will not meet the KHL requirements by the deadline.

Told to do? Yablonski chose a larger paycheck in exchange for being an animal and a disgrace to the game. It's not like somebody is forcing him at gun point.

Yes he's doing what's best for his family financially..nothing wrong with that; yet that doesn't mean he shouldn't be held accountable for, or judged on his actions.

He's not running around like Matt Cooke or someone like that throwing dirty hits and trying to end careers or anything. He was offered a good sum of money to go do what he was told over there. I'm sure you would do the same when the options are probably playing professional hockey or going and working at the sawmill or taking over the family farm.

We get it, you don't want people to view your friend badly, guess what? Too bad, he is an animal and he has no morals whatsoever. Simply put, he's trash. I'd rather work at a sawmill or take over a family farm than attack helpless people for a living. Regardless of who tells him to do it, he makes his own choices, and he's a pathetic individual for them. If someone murders another person, are they clear of judgement because someone else told them to do it? No offence to you, but if I had a friend who acted like this, I wouldn't be their friend very long, let alone try to defend them.

When IS that deadline you speak of?

It's one thing to be an enforcer and go out and do your job. It's completely something else to do that job, then keep hitting a guy who's laying down on the ice for no good reason. I have a buddy who's played with Yabo in the past, and he says he's one of the nicest guys in the world off the ice, but that doesn't excuse him for making poor decisions.

Was it not by 2015? Or did i imagine that?

Who will take Vityaz's place in 2015-2016? All bets accepted...:)

And the Vityaz coach appreciate how his players acts???

I'm sure Nazarov (Vityaz's head coach) does that on orders from higher management. I don't think Nazarov would like it very much otherwise. If, say, the Montreal Canadiens owned that team, there would be no such goonery, only a physical game that does not result in unnecessary fighting.

The blame has to be put on the team management. They're the ones signing these players and telling them to do these things. It's a disgrace.

These guys are a bunch of cowards.

their organisation is utmostly crappy.

they play warriors in a hockey field !! go and play warriors with other warriors ... create a MMA team or whatever ... .

If i was playing for vityaz ... and would behave alike ... would my son be proud of me ?
i would look like a moron ! My son is proud of me because being young i was boxer, Thai boxer (childrens ... they don't value my job as a bureaucrat !!) ... but i was beating on other warriors. I feel sooo well because he is proud of me !! the value of your kid being proud of me is incredible !! This guys expose themselves just to the inverse. Poor guys.

why don't i work as a striptease guy in a discotheque for gay people ... because it would be a dishonour. I would look like a poor guy.
These guys are the same. Most of them prostitute themselve (i still imagine they have a common sense somewhere) to get a decent salary because their is a silly wealthy guy paying for that. They end last of the championship but beat up guys ! in the scale of values of the guys who pays ... it is fine.

i wonder actually who is behind this. What is this poor minded guy ? one day it will stop because being so stupid, no way he will remain wealthy ... and i do not think that fans appreciate that.

Actually the problematic aspect is that it destroys the quality of KHL. Why should a hockey star want to face these monkeys to be beaten up ??

A SOLUTION would be that the other teams should hire a real goon. i mean a 1.95 (or 6.3 feets) with a 120 kgs muscle ... because the frame of those vityas guys are normal frames ! 1.8something. my frame. nothing special !! so hire 1 good 1.95 120kgs to teach them what to do. And you allign him only against vityaz. You will still be winning the game ... since they don't play well and on top of that some of these guys would see their face smashed.

on a league level, the KHL heads have to start thinking !! or put finnes !! the league would make money and vityaz would start thinking. (maybe !)

whatever :help:
save the KHL.
and remove those monkeys from the second best league in the world. They don't fit !

PS they are not al quaida ... is that a performance ?? they are still undesirable and negative to the environment.

They're just cowards. They only ever go after players like Martin Skoula or Jamie Lundmark here or goaltenders, usually from behind. Yeah, real tough. We're all so impressed and intimidated.

Then when you see them square off against someone who can actually handle themselves, like MacIntyre in the video posted before, and they get their faces flattened.

Martin Skoula is believe it or not the toughest player on Avangard Omsk along with Ryabykin.
Jamie Lundmark is probably among the best fighters on Dinamo Riga aswell.

Then, Yablonski was an AHL champ and both Mirasty and Brennan were elite enforcers in AHL. God bless MacIntyre for destroying Yablonski because otherwise his haters wouldn't had any video to support their case. For a guy who was an AHL enforcer and was so weak, where are the videos of him getting destroyed by someone else other than BigMac? There are none, he lost 2 fights in 3 years, and another fight he lost was on points.

You guys getting worked up over that? Whole lot of nothing

Finally a sane person.)))

Maybe people here have hard time understanding it. But Fighters beating up non fighters happened in Russia before Vutyaz brough there Yablonski, Mirasty and Brennan.

Have you guys ever heard about Alexander Yudin? Mikhail Strelkov? Andrei Sryubko? Alexei Krovopuskov? Ildar Yubin? Vladislav Boulin? These guys were also beating non-fighters because well, there are not many fighters out there in KHL.

And really, to not appreciate their style is OK. But to get so worked up people should not.

Wish they would show more respect when players are laying on the ice, other than that it was a nice brawl(for modern times). It looks bad because you got good fighters going against a team with no fighters. Dont want to get embarrassed fightwise, sign some damn enforcers. Pure and simple. KHL should really ditch thier ego and lift that foreigner rule. Then these brawls will be tapered once some good ol' North American enforcers get signed by other teams. Then vityaz would also have to work on thier skill on the 1st and 2nd lines since thier enforcers would be countered. Im a genius lol (sarcasm, the genius part).

I get a good laugh when all these KHL Brawls OMG!!! threads come up. Brawls have been happening since hockey players started getting paid to play. Get over it and just enjoy it, its entertainment, nothing to protest and write your local government about.

Also like to point out that the NHL used to be, before it sold out to corporate america, a lot "worse" than the KHL will ever be brawl wise. How come you OMG posters aint throwing a hissy fit about that? ;) It doesnt matter if it happened yesterday or 20 years ago, its all history, since I know thats going to be the main arguement about that statement.

Are you saying that in the Russian mentality it is OK to have a team like Vityaz ??

Think of it like this, if doesnt kill them, helps them. Or tough love, which ever. Spread the word and the Russian people will learn to accept over time.

Not a insult against Russia or its residents, but a country run by the mob throwing a fit over a team playing like its the mob is very ironic.

I wouldn't say so.

But fighters beating up non-fighters happened previously. Because fighters are rare in RSL/KHL. I remember times when Alexander Yudin was the most hated player in RSL and now he is worshipped as a "real russian man". And Yudin was 6'4 260 lbs enforcer who was beating up 5'10 non-fighters without hesitation, if he thought they deserve it.

Fighters are not to blame that they don't have opponents. When they have one they fight him fair and treat him fair. Mirasty hasn't punched Svitov when he went down.

Problem is with ownership that signed so many goons at once and expects them to beat everybody up.

If we don't expand further into Slovakia and Czech republic? If we don't enter the Scandinavian market? If Milan falls through? How about Zagreb?

Yudin was a tough guy and was hated but Yudin never went after goaltenders or hit guys over and over and over while they were down. We have never had any thing close to this in the KHL/RSL.

Yablonski went after Gelashvili because Gelashvili acted in such provoking manner. If you follow Khl you know that Gelashvili is a stupid hot head. Only for that move when he looked like he is going to strike Brennan in the head with his goalie stick he deserved a punch in the face.

As for hitting guys when they were down:

Yeah, it never happened.

P.S. Brennan punched Redlinhs maybe 2 times when he was down. Same with Yabo and Ozo. They didn't pummel their opponents like Kutejkin did in this video.

But this Kuteykin ... he was fined by the league ? referees did something against him ? was he suspended ?

(because NHL also has some Bertuzzi or other embarassing things that ... if seen on youtube ... some guys could make a generalization.)

In fact if i understand well. Vityaz are beyond what is tolerable but not in the constant huge scandal territory ? Therefore nothing will be done and they will be fined from time to time and tolerated until their contract allows to kick them out of the league. ?? do i understand well the Russian view on it ?

If this is the case, KHL should start thinking ... because they want to expand beyond Russian frontiers ... and for foreigners ... Vityas IS in the constant huge scandal territory.
In other words Vityaz doens't advertise in the right direction to attract other teams so as to create NHL2 (Kontinental hockey league !)

I dont know about such a rule about capacity of arena. I know only if club builds new one, it has to be 9000 and over.

What kind of hockey do you subscribe to? Slapshot the movie?

There are numerous hot headed goalies known for their theatrics. So what? You give them a whack, or accidentally run them....or better yet, score on them. But under no circumstance is it right for some talentless goon to grab and start pummeling some goalie. That's just thuggery at its highest level.

I am pretty convinced that Vitayz is being paid by the NHL to scare away skilled players. I can see no other reason why someone would pay all that money to create a hockey team, just to watch their team lose terribly, and not make any attempt to get better.
