Yup. In the interview they said they were impressed by:
1) his ability to communicate
2) his ability to get whatever asked of him done

He sounds like a damn good employee, but the lack of experience is alarming.

And that might also be a problem. In situations where you have an organizational tire fire having someone that shakes things up rather than gets along seems like a better trait to look for.

Yes, i dont trust we'll see much success from a man who's been groomed in this tire fire of a franchise for the past decade or so.

The Pegulas want to be able to pull the strings on the hockey side, and Adams is a guy that will keep them in the loop and let them do that. For better or for worse.

The big question right now is how much smaller the hockey organization will be once they get a chance to build it back up, and if it will allow them to run a successful and sustainable team.

He brought up analytics. We'll see if they end up truly using them

I'm confused by the Amerks comments. He says they want a greater focus on development, but that the issue before wasnt the coaches but the roster or something. A little strange

Really liked Adams comments this morning. We’ve been complaining for a few years that Amerks success was largely due to non-NHL veterans. He emphasized analytics and I definitely think Botterill either didn’t give a damn or didn’t understand them.

I leave that interview happier than the Pegula show.

Nice!

Agreed. He seems pretty intelligent - and while it sounds like they definitely do want to cut costs with fewer bodies - it seems that Adams will look for the right types of people who can combine scouting with analytics.

Thats what drove me nuts about people pointing to the Amerks as some kind of grand success by Botterill. Yeah, CJ Smith, Redmond, and ORegan dont get me excited.

Oh yeah. Zach Redmond and Kevin Porter were fantastic veteran pieces to stabilize the leadership after Cal O'Reilly failing.

However, the success of Rochester has been HEAVILY driven by Non-NHlers the last 2 years. They need to fix that, but also keep that leadership Sexton/Botterill correctly established.

Prove me wrong, mouthbreather. Until the glorified yes man, does what he says, call me a scorned Sabres fan. This team is the laughing stock of the NHL. Perpetual bottom feeders, always devoid of actual goal driven success. That being said, I will never stop being a Sabres fan.

If this team is going on an analytics kick, then Rasmus Ristolainen and Jake McCabe need to go. Two of the most befuddling players on the back end. Meat and potato types are great, but they've been here long enough and it's time to move on. We need to shed this nonsense like a bad f***ing dream and wake up to the reality, that WE f***ING BLOW!

The good, again its all words until something happens

The bad, well maybe Kim has good center ideas *cough*Reinhart*cough*

Yeah, we have to see it. But Adams sure seems like he's saying the right things. I wonder what's going to happen with Risto though -- he's a guy that analytics hates but Kruger seems to love.

I like his comments about development to.

But let's see what happens now.

As much as they don't like the hockey president idea, it almost sounds like that's what Adams is.

Listening to the interviews he's basically talking about his role being facilitating between departments
