Kevyn Adams GM thread

We have Bryson, Gilbert and Joker who need to be gone.

Bryson and Gilbert are not NHL defensemen and Joker is not top 4.

Adams has let this continue for 3 years now.
Well, as I understand it, he thought Jokiharju was ok in the top 4. That's probably why. This guy has absolutely no idea how to evaluate players or build a good team. Doesn't understand that a team needs vets to develop kids. Don't rush kids and don't give them important roles, find a mentor and a reliable partner at least for Power and much more.

5 years as a GM and the best he can come up with is Bryson, Joker, Clifton and Gilbert.

5 years and thats his team building.

How do I email this to Adams?

Is Adams crazy enough to think that we could play the rest of the season at what amounts to a 130-point pace or will he finally start preparing for next season in time?

My opinion has been that the accountability/culture/what you want to call it was seriously disrupted by bringing in several 'leaders' who all had substance abuse issues.
Its just searching for individuals to blame for a structural failure from top to bottom.
Nearly everyone of those individuals succeded somewhere else.
Being on a miserable team certainly doesn't help if you have issues.

Terry doesn't have to do anything.

And if you look at why he's let the last two Sabres GMs go, it wasn't about wins and losses.
Its hard to tell if you are constantly losing 😂

I am again imploring ownership to get this guy out of there before he does something stupid.

The rest of the season should be simple: Sell off UFAs, wait for new front office to figure out the rest.

No need for some guy who has shown repeatedly that he is not good at roster building or making trades, be allowed to make anymore bad decisions.

"In other news: Sabres General Manager Kevyn Adams defended himself from criticism that he hasn't done anything to fix the team's failing roster by citing the fact any player he wants has the Sabres on their no trade list. When asked what the main reason players give him for blocking trades to the Sabres Adams replied "The fact that I am the GM of the Sabres".
It is remarkable how I can hear this being read by Norm, with his trademark delivery and cadence.

But ultimately he allows the people he hired to run the teams make those decisions.
Do you have any evidence or examples to support your opinion on this?

I'd argue that the best way to make someone "feel heard" is to taken action based on the opinions they've shared.

Like if Terry says he likes player A, but Adams drafts player B... is Terry going to feel heard? In a one off situation it's probably fine, but what if it was consistently happening? Of course Terry isn't going to feel heard.

The only thing that makes sense is that Adams is listening to Terry's opinions on players and Adams is making player personnel decisions that reflect those opinions. And it's frequent enough for Terry to feel heard.

If Adams wasn't doing this he'd already be gone.

This isn't rocket science or a conspiracy.

Any argument that Adams doesn’t do exactly what he’s told is immediately vanquished by a simple question:

If he wasn’t doing what ownership wanted…how does he still have the job after nothing but failure?

He’s a joke. The league laughs at him. He loses. They regress. He doesn’t do anything to try to turn things around.

No owner in any sport would employ this man and that’s BEFORE he failed at the job.

This owner does. If he really has free rein to make decisions…and it isn’t about being a yes man puppet…why is he still here when all his decisions fail? He’s had longer than either of the GMs who wouldn’t do what they were told. This isn’t a hard f***ing question.

I can't remember who in sabres twitter said it like a month ago when the notice went out about tonight's event and how it listed management...but they just bluntly said they guaranteed Adams would dodge it

What a bitch.

Anyone who still isn't done with this shit...deserves everything they've been getting from this team. The rest of us hate you

Accountability.
Reminds me how Ruff said just today that he needs players whose main trait is that they hate to lose more than anything.

Is there anyone more comfortable with losing than Adams? Is there any team with less accountability?

It seems like Adams is always projecting - revealing to us his greatest weaknesses when he describes the team he wants to build. Saying he wants to shape the team in the image of his polar opposite.
