How hard is it to upgrade Jacob Bryson?

It really shows how bad he is at his job.

To be honest I don't know whats worse Bryson is on the ice after 5 years of planning or that Gilbert is the next in line after 5 years of planning.

Kevyn Adams after 5 years of planning has come up with this guy. He only played his way out of Chicago, Coloardo and Calgary so why not bring him here. Its not that Gilbert is the problem. After 5 years of drafting Adams doesn't have a 5-6 defenseman to play in the line up.

Kevyn Adams 5 year plan.

There were a lot more players moving around, but this idiot wasn't doing anything, fire him.

Its mind boggling how this guy doesn't see the holes in this team. How hard is it to trade a 2nd or 3rd for a legit top 6 defender.

It happens every year and more than once.(for the people who say its hard to find trades)

Living in Denver, I’ve seen the Avs start this season with absolutely atrocious goaltending. And what happens? Their GM (who also has his warts) trades for TWO new goalies and now has appeared to have solved that issue. Meanwhile Adams sits with a thumb up his ass, gives us meaningless platitudes talking about “it’s all good here no worries” and does absolutely nothing to address anything.

Didn’t think I’d be rooting for losses this year for the sake of change, but once again, here I am.

Well, now they'll keep him and we won't make the playoffs anyway. What bad luck!

or just keep Johnson up. Ridiculous. He will probably include Johnson in a trade if/when he does make one.

I wonder if Adams was in discussions for Pavel ? Who was a excellent pk er and could of helped with the loss of Greenway.

MacFarland taking a flyer on Pärssinen is interesting. One gm/organization trying to improve and not afraid it's shadow.

The issue goes back to the cap floor years.

Even if you agreed on moving out 2 top franchise cornerstones in Eichel and Reinhart and 'start over', the plan to just turn the NHL team into the Developmental team was always a bad one. Teams (I'm looking at Chicago and San Jose) will find high character vets on bad deals and bring them in while currying favor/assets. They won't have a ton left in the tank, but they typically know the system and can help the kids with dealing with the transition to the NHL.

He didn't do that. He signed a bunch of marginal vets to minimum contracts and handed NHL icetime to kids, regardless of readiness.

He thought he was the smartest guy in the room, and over time he's proven to be the dumbest.

Decided to use the NHL team as developmental, with a first time NHL coach which, I’m willing to estimate, based on the lack of necessary changes since the beginning and Pegulas “organizational structure” that the coach didn’t get to choose his assistants.

So we had development of players, by a coach that needed to develop himself, all the while developing his assistants, with the whole thing being organized by a “Rookie GM” himself. The chances of sustained success should be low as it is.

What?

Criticizing Adams is fairly easy to do. It’s a target rich environment. But you’re comparing our 7th+8th dmen to guys who’ve been traded and playing as top 4 dmen. None of them would be acquired to be our 7th/8th dmen, like Bryson/Gilbert are. Then you further confuse things by using that comparison to complain about our 5th+6th dmen spots. Which were filled by Sammy/Clifton.

Adams has sucked at addressing our issues on defense. The primary one being an underperforming top 4. As a group they haven’t been nearly good enough and don’t have the right skill mix. Our drafting and our 7th/8th dmen don’t even address the issue.

Like, "put him on the rack and make him taller" extend him? Maybe a couple teams of horses going in opposite directions?

Nah, no physical torture needed.

Give him a multi year contract with WGR to host a fan call in show for 2 hours every week.

Also, no call screens, right from the queue to on air.
