Kevin Adams can continue be the chief blame deflector with his palm trees and taxes spiel, and saying reports from Montreal about the owner were not all true. But the main reason no one will comes here is his boss. Even he has to see the writing on the wall and thats he's being set up for the eventual fall. He has been gm for two of the worst loosing streaks in franchise history. Time to cut the pr crap and to man up. A apology to the city/area he works in would not hurt as well.

This does seem like a curse.

Adams wanting to cram all of his high picks into the farm team all at once is one of the many dubious decisions. There is no room for players to grow into other roles. It’s not like we’re seeing somebody emerge down there as a checking line or physical player because they’ve got most of the lineup chock full of first and second rounders upfront. There’s no opportunity for found money, no opportunity for somebody to step in or step up even at the farm level. And it also means that if all of those pics are slightly stunted, it’s going to create a blockage and they won’t be getting comparable value back down the line and the crust of the wave will be in the middle of this idiocy.
He should of gotten better consul from Karmanos as well.

Maybe. The American League guys that they’ve brought in over the last few years have worked pretty well. It’s just I don’t think I’ve ever seen a team try to force so many teenagers into their development. Again it’s that whole sensation that they think they know better when it just keeps blowing up in their face time after time and almost every aspect of what they do.

The inability to draft/develop role players has plagued this team since Murray and beyond. The last 6 or so drafts have produced f*** all after the second round. For an organization focused on building through the draft they have consistently failed to produce solid NHLers outside of drafting 1st or 2nd overall. You’re far better at evaluating our scouting staff than I but the results suggest they’re well below average.

Part of what drives me crazy when people talk about the ease at which teams get energy players. Other teams sure. But not this team. And then when they do, they’re so little of it that it points to glaring issues with deployment.

At the present time, they have a couple of prospect forwards who have some sand in their game, and they have a couple more prospect defensemen have bite in their game. But who knows if they’re ever gonna actually get here.

The last energy guy this team drafted/developed was 15 years ago and he’s busy tossing grenades at this franchise from Minnesota.

Any move made in any area, other than blowing it up, costs Pegula money.

In case anyone needs a reason nothing changes. Pay a new GM? Pay new assistant coaches? Add to player payroll?

Wonder why none of those things have happened. It’s a stumper.
Granato's 2-year contract commenced this season. Pegula is paying him $2M this season and next to *not* coach the Sabres.

There's no need to make shit up to criticize Pegula's dreadful ownership tenure.

Why doesn't Adams himself quit at this point? Sure his rehire prospects are slim to none at this point, but is that going to change? Why not just quit, blame Pugula for not providing the needed resources, and call it a day? At least he'd go out with a shred of decency.

Because he is his lackey, why should he leave? A lackey is often with his master to the end, even if they are up to their ears in shit.

Tell me, oh wise one, who is paying his current coach the bulk of his salary for those same two years.

You won’t win this bullshit with me. I have receipts. He’s paying him what amounts to a fraction of the cash saved buying out Skinner and sitting on the savings.

Why is every assistant still here in the same role except Ellis? Because they had contracts. Ellis, btw, wasn’t even fired. Because he had a contract. He’s just not on the bench anymore. One new assistant…Seth Appert…who was, see if you can guess, under contract. Lindy got to bring in zero new staff. Because it would have cost them f***ing money.

The days of believing in Pegula spending ended three f***ing years ago.

The days of humoring those that do is over now.

Someone needs to tell Ebeneezer Pegula that Granato is "see if you can guess, under contract". $2M/year for this season and next to not coach the Sabres.

Your thesis is flawed.

Lets also not forget another reason why deals do not seem to get done in Buffalo. Other gm's in the league calling Kevin Adams difficult to deal with and over valuing his assets.

Or he just doesn't pick up the phone and doesn't call anyone at all. Worst GM ever.
