I had a dream that they fired Adams and hired the San Jose sharks play by play announcer
Maybe he would have been a better GM than Kevyn.I had a dream that they fired Adams and hired the San Jose sharks play by play announcer
You know how you can tell Adams doesn't know what he is doing? He didn't build this team. He never had a 5 year plan like he said. He never looked at the teams weaknesses and tried to improve. He is a liar. He told us he had a plan. That plan was making the playoffs after 4 years.Maybe he would have been a better GM than Kevyn.
Yeah, I remember the 2022 draft well, when there were a lot of RDs (Warren, Casey, Luneau, Salomonsson) in the second round, but they took Leinonen, and then they said that we were going to take him almost in the first round anyway, and in general, I think he said that he was going to take a goalie anyway. How? Why? How did you come to that? You know how you can tell Adams doesn't know what he is doing? He didn't build this team. He never had a 5 year plan like he said. Did he build the defense over 5 years? No.
Did he build the offense over 5 years? No.
He had no plan. Lets look at the draft. Every GM will tell you that you start with defensemen in the draft when building a team because they take the longest to mature to NHL level while forwards mature faster in general not exact science.
His first draft 2020 He should have been drafting with his plan in mind. Lets see who he started with. His first pick was Jack Quinn. His next pick was Peterka. Did he draft defense? 1 pick in round 7. Albert Lyckasen Just one defenseman that will never see the NHL.
How about 2021 defenseman? Owen Power 1st overall a left handed defenseman. Next first round pick he took Rosen. What about in the 2nd round? How about some right handed defensemen to build a difficult team to play against? You took Poltapov and Kisakov two Russian forwards. Out of 11 picks in the 2021 draft you took 2 defensemen. Both of them LEFT HANDED.
In the 2022 draft You got 3 1st round draft picks. Who did you take? Savoie, Kulich and Oastlund. Maybe the 2nd round you will grab some defense? Nope, you took a goalie Leinonen. What about in the 3rd round who did you take? Nope still no right handed defensemen. In the 4th round you finally took defense Matts Lindgren LEFT HANDED. Finally in the draft your third draft you took Komarov a RIGHT Handed defenseman in the 4th round.
So breaking down the draft in his first 3 years
27 picks
5 picks defense
2 picks right handed defense in round 4 and round 7 would not even be projected to make the NHL.
Thats right in 3 years he took ZERO right handed defensemen that would be projected to make the NHL yet he had a plan according to him.
It wasn't until the 2023 draft he finally decided to take right handed defense.
2nd M. Strbak RIGHT HANDED Defenseman
3rd G. McCarthy RIGHT HANDED defenseman
In the 2024 draft?
2nd A. Kleber RIGHT HANDED defenseman
4th SP Brunet RIGHT HANDED defenseman
In the 2023 and 2024 draft Adams had
16 picks
8 were defense
4 were RIGHT HANDED.
So, knowing that defense take longer to mature Adams literally had NO PLAN from the start. He only started to realize in the 2023 draft that he had no right handed defenseman in the prospect pool.
Let sink in his first 3 years drafting 27 picks only 2 Right handed defensemen round 4 and round 7.
Its not about well this pick was good or that pick was good. Its about the design and plan he had when he took over as GM.
I get you can look at each pick in general and say it was good or whatever but where is the plan he had?Yeah, I remember the 2022 draft well, when there were a lot of RDs (Warren, Casey, Luneau, Salomonsson) in the second round, but they took Leinonen, and then they said that we were going to take him almost in the first round anyway, and in general, I think he said that he was going to take a goalie anyway. In 2021, he could easily take Morrow (RD), plus there were some other RDs there. Arizona take Moser at #60, we take Kisakov at #53. Caps take Iorio at #55.
Overall, I can't say Adams drafted poorly, but I did dislike some of his picks. And it started right away when he didn't take Rossi.
Apparently he thought we didn't need defenseman and Jokiharju would fight for Norris.I get you can look at each pick in general and say it was good or whatever but where is the plan he had?

When you draft defensemen in 2023 and 2024 you are looking at 2025-2027 for prospects to be ready for the NHL. Hows that window looking?
He is a con artist who had no plan. When he was making moves when he first took over there was no plan. He didn't try to build anything.Apparently he thought we didn't need defenseman and Jokiharju would fight for Norris.
I wish his drafts were a top 10 issue for me with Adams. You know how you can tell Adams doesn't know what he is doing? He didn't build this team. He never had a 5 year plan like he said.
