The year before he was hired, after 24 games, the sabres were 11-10-3. Now they are 11-11-2. Literally have gone, and are going, nowhere under this leadership.

He struck out on the coaching hire, but he was fine as GM considering what he had to work with and what he accomplished to acquire. He understood the types of players you needed to construct a team with. When he got here, he had next to no main roster to start from. His #1 center was freaking Cody Hodgson and his #1 defenseman was an albatross of a contract in Ehrhoff.
And as a reminder, he got fired because he wouldn’t fire his coach and MOST importantly to the organization, wouldn’t work with the owner that continues to meddle on the hockey side of things. Not because of the results or anything Tim actually did as a GM.

Weren't we like a few points out of the playoffs under Time Murray? 1 game under .500
I am not saying he was good or bad but here we are still.

After tanking we were 13pts and 17pts respectively from a playoff spot during Murray’s tenure. We were no where near the playoffs when Murray was GM. The best we’ve done during the drought is under Adams, which really drives home how terrible we’ve been.

There has to be some actual building done to constitute a rebuild.
He’s sat on his hands, saved Pegula money, and done f***ing nothing. and if anyone still wants to argue that saving money isn’t the f***ing entire point after the Skinner buyout and refusing to spend the savings…there is no owner in the world who would keep this failed GM in this position. Except the one who told him to save money. And is happy with the job he’s done at the only thing he cares about.

He went out and acquired some of the most toxic individuals because he's a toxic individual and poisoned the entire organization. He was Marvin Lewis not giving a shit about character but nowhere near as competent or successful. His obnoxiousness over the tank put us on the league's shit list we are on to this day and likely will never be off in any of our lifetimes.

Well, that's the majority of the league, guys who don't have any trade protection.
He add Byram, McLeod, Zucker, Greenway. Then you can add good players.

We might be in better shape if he hadn't used almost all his million draft picks on soft skilled forwards (the single least valuable thing in the entire sport).

And most of them are going to rot on the vine and essentially have to be given away. Making Adams a GM was like putting a stewardess in charge of air traffic control and the results were totally predictable.

Kevyn Adams leveraged Jack Eichel (leading NHL in points), and Sam Reinhart (leading NHL in goals) into.....
Alex Tuch, Peyton Krebs, Noah Ostlund, Jordan Greenway, Devon Levi, Jiri Kulich.
Fireable offense.
This is far far worse than Botterill getting Tage for ROR and that was a bad deal.
Free Agent Acquisitions (Zucker was a good signing so far although he's tailed off a little the last 4/5 games.)
NAK and Lafferty combined into 30 games (1 point)
Malenstyn traded for a high 2nd round pick for 3 points in 24 games, on pace for a 10 point season
None of this includes the horrible long-term contracts he's given out.
They need to fire this guy, he can't be trusted at this point based on his resume to make any more trades/signings. He's demonstrated at this point he could be one of the worst GMs in NHL history (0 Play Off Appearances in 5 years). He won't ever be a GM again in this league.

Pegula is getting older (73), I wonder how much time he has left as owner of the Sabres or at least involvement. I don't think he's to the Jerry Jones level.

nobody cares about Tim Murray, he is a foot note in all of this.

The only relevance Tim Murray has to the Kevyn Adams problem is proof that doing the exact opposite as Murray for twice as long doesn’t work either.

ROR, Ullmark, Eichel, Sam Reinhart, Okposo, have all won cups after being traded/signed away from the Sabres. And agents know it! Let it get back to the owner you don't want to play here and you will be traded or not signed. Who's next ?

Adams just thinks this is some kind of computer game like hockey manager where he can do his thing in peace and quiet because he has carte blanche from the owner, whom he constantly licks on occasion. The guy has been a GM for five years and still hasn't figured out how to build a team for the playoffs. He's just stuck in his mind thinking that relying on kids in the top 6 and Jokiharju and Bryson in the top 4 is fine, he's still living in a developmental season, even though he talks about the playoffs.
This is true.
You can resurrect Punch Imlach himself and the Sabres would continue to muddle in futility under the Pegula watch.
Pegula has taken this franchise to a very dark place. Very few from the outside actually want to play, coach or manage here and it has nothing to do with the city of Buffalo.

On top of that the value of the 1st rounder after he drafted has gone down in most cases. Imagine trading the Savoie pick at the draft instead of making the pick. You are gonna get a pretty good haul much more than McLeod.
He just refuses to trade that 1st to improve the team to push them into the playoffs. He is probably too scared to make a mistake. It makes you wonder if he will be fired at the end of the season because he seems so comfortable.
