Things will turn around once he lands that forward he’s somehow convinced people he’s been after for five months and counting.

Cant wait for a fifth offseason of futility and then feigning surprise at the results.

Years away. Still. Just throwing kids onto a flaming mess.
You wouldn’t want to mortgage the future of said tire fire

“Land a forward” for what? So they can block our plethora of young talent who should be developing? In a league that consistently shows itself to be getting younger?

Dude, we have a shit ton of young talent and our veteran forwards are some of our worst performers. Time for development, we scored a ton last year- talent is there. Time for refinement. We don’t have the coach for that though- so switch coaches. But I don’t get how someone sees this boatload of talent and says “rock it. Don’t care what the song says, rock it.”

The only forward he's been after is the strawman you just brought up.

If the forward he's after is Lindholm and signs him to a reasonable extension.....some things might be forgiven. Not all, but some

If players need to develope they should be playing for a team (Rochester) in a league (AHL) whose entire purpose is development.

No chance we get Lindholm. Since when has Adams made a move that big?

I see Adams going after someone like Henrique.

3rd rounder or later for trade or a B prospect is what Adams will use for a trade.

Reasonable and extension are two words that never belong in the same sentence when describing a 28yo productive and defensively sound center. He's going to look into cashing out for his big payday
Yep in a vacuum he'd be perfect, but he's coming off a pretty team friendly deal, term and cost aint gonna come cheap.

I never said it was realistic. It’s what is needed to atone for his crimes against buffalo hockey fans he’s committed.

His biggest crime would be trading the 25yo RFA who is just now showing his offensive chops for a 28yo UFA that will want a huge payday and isn't better offensively since losing Tkachuk. Much better off tweaking the wings around his 3 centers and then upgrading his matchup line to run opposing teams into the ground

Don't bother. He's hopelessly caught up in his trade Mitts fantasy land.

What matchup line? Girgs-Jost-Okposo? The the 4th line that gets 12 minutes a night. We don't have.a true matchup line. It's one of the problems.

Well, we need to a center of Lindholm's skill set. Mittelstadt has gotten better....but he's likely never going to be as versatile as LIndholm is, even with Lindholm on the downside of his career.

I'd much rather pay Lindholm 8.5 (Horvat's contract basically) than pay Mittelstadt 7. A much more versatile player with a much more proven track record of success.

Lateral move at best, ignoring that Mitts is hitting his prime. It makes much more sense to trade Krebs/Jost/prospects/picks.

Who really cares though...KA won't even think about it.

8.5 at 35yo vice 7 at 32yo seems like a no brainer to me. I'll roll with the younger player that is showing he's finally developed rather than hope my big UFA signing doesn't turn into another Okposo, Kevin Hayes, Lucic where they completely fall off within a couple years then you're saddled with an albatross contract.

Lindholm at Mitts' age had a lot of shelter. Mitts is on his way, I'd rather pay for what's to come instead of what already happened.

Game 25 tomorrow.

When you factor in games played and go by points percentage…we sit second last in the conference.

God I hope Pegula’s limo driver or personal shopper is a secret hockey genius.

He’s fallen in the Botterill camp of quality GMs for me personally. Lots of hope despite showing poor judgement. I see a lot of defense of his actions and decisions from fans to justify the glacial pace of the success of the organization, than I see evidence on the ice and results.

To me he’s shown he’s bad at free agency targets to fill roles on the roster, he’s shown an impatience with developing prospects and structuring his roster to do so to get the most out of the players. He’s shown he is risk averse of signing young players before they’ve shown a consistency of sustaining successful hockey, which can create a situation to handcuff the team if said players don’t pan out like expected. He’s handled the goaltending timeline structure horribly. it feels like he’s so invested in making sure his retooling moves from the previous core hits, that development be damned.

He has a lot of confidence in his coach, or is again is so focused on making sure his first official hire works, that he feels making decisions with the development of his players to rush them to the NHL level, that seems to have ignored the fact that his coach hasn’t proven he can actually develop NHL players.

His tenure here so far feels like a whole bunch of wishful thinking of a plan, and hoping something works without any concrete results to have said confidence in the wish coming true. It’s worked on a lot of fans I will say as many people want to point to an outlier of production and results has evidence of the team being on the up and up, and ignoring just how bad and inconsistent the team played showing the exact same issues for all 4 years of his time here, and with an improvement in goaltending from terrible to below average, that so many issues of the team in front of them are masked, which can lead to some fool’s gold.

Just a very painful reminder:

Adams ---> Pegula

=

Garth Snow ---> Charles Wang

Adams has the job as long as either he wants it or Pegula is the owner.
