Demko was great last year but I just can’t see Carolina draining one of their blue chip assets given his injury concerns and them already having the Freddy Andersen experience. If any team knows the pitfalls of having to rely on a goalie who is good when healthy but always 5 minutes away from going on IR - it’s Carolina.

Nikishin is a non-starter with Burns and Orlov out the door soon.

I think Vancouver is in a tough spot with Demko and his value relative to who he can be when fully healthy and locked in. It’s extra shitty that there is all this drama happening at the same time, although I feel like the Vancouver media machine does no favors with the incessant speculation. This press release above is absolute peak “I don’t know shit but let’s get these rumors started”. Seriously, they even preface it with ”I’m not an insider, I’m not reporting anything, this may not be legitimate..but…let me present to you this speculation as if it is!!!”
