I am firmly in the Shatenkirk was a terrible signing camp. He wasn't particularly good defensively when he had young legs, and in his twilight, just forget it. He has no upside, and with the exception of playing one minute a game on pp2, brings nothing this team needs.
You admit judging the Bruins by watching highlights.
Now we are supposed to believe you watch other teams and players and think it is in depth analysis?

lol kinda feels like you owe someone an apology
Why because of one person's (well-stated) opinion who I disagree with? lol pass

I'll have no problem saying I'm wrong after Shattenkirk kicks ass this season. I only hope I'm afforded that opportunity.

Last time I actually paid attention to Shattenkirk in a game was in Matthews Arena when he was playing with Nick Bonino for BU.

Based on that, I think he should be an excellent 6th defenseman for the B's this year.

We're gonna need 8 D men that we can rely on to carry us through the season. Shattenkirk is going to be one of those guys. Whether he starts on our bottom pair, or rides the pine, he's going to end up getting ice time before the season is over. Not sure what the big deal is here....

Personally, I trust him more than I do Mitchell. Mainly because of his intelligence and consistency. I saw plenty of Mitchell last season with Chicago. He's got his warts too, but he'll end up logging minutes for the Bs as well.

Very solid D. He looks like the same D... when he played for TBL (maybe a smidge slower). Fantastic vet D pickup for 1m . Its too bad... didnt try to trade for him...earlier in his career

Well, in terms of trading for him earlier: if he looks “the same” now as he did back then to you, you wouldn’t have liked him at yesterday’s money.

I think he’s a good guy to have around. Less prone to error via unnecessary risk than I had thought he was before seeing him play regularly

He’s been exactly that

He also should get the 40 seconds on the backend of all PP and first 80 seconds if McAvoy out

Tremendous signing
