Interesting factoid: Ladd's in 5th overall in scoring amongst left wingers, behind only Kunitz, Ovi, Hall and Moulson, and 6th overall amongst left wingers in goal scoring. Impressive. Kane's jumped pretty far up the scoring stat sheet as well.

So to catch the Caps, the Jets would need to win all 6 of their remaining games - at least 5 out of the 6 in regulation or OT (assuming the Caps go 5-2 and win all their games the same way), then the Jets win the SE on the Regulation+OT Wins tiebreaker.

I'd put it more simply. To win the SE, the Jets must win their one remaining game against the Caps AND match their number of wins in their other games.

Realistically we're fighting with Wash, NYR, NYI and Ott. We just need 1 of those 4 teams to play .500 or worse and 4-2 should get us in. I'd definitely take my chances with 4-2. It really helps that our ROW is so high. That might very well be what gets us in.

For sure - all those teams should be concerned. They HAVE to keep the Jets behind them, as a tie in the standings would be disasterous for them.

The Caps still have to lose another game somewhere. They can lose to us and still finish with 58 points if they run the table.

Standard for a third line winger :sarcasm:

You really think they can run the table?
In the last 12 games, since they played us in Wpg, they have earned 21 out of a possible 24 points.
I am assuming they will experience what our statisticians love to refer to as regression to the mean sooner or later...or will they??

We should have an all Vest night at the arena. That would be pretty hilarious!

Good game!

In other news, Jokinen is still terrible

I hope this was a joke. This was one of his better games. Positionally he was on the ball throughout and played really, really well. This was the best I've seen Clit play btw. Top two lines carried the pace and the rest followed.

Awesome game.

Oh god. I'm on my phone, so all I saw at first was Engblom with the Cheetos bag photoshopped. Then I scrolled over to see Buff. XD

Edit: Andrew Ladd with the perfect 'Suck it, Markstrom.'

In my mind catching the Caps would be a bonus. They are 2 up, with a game in hand and they are playing lights out hockey right now. I see us in a free for all with 4 other teams (Ottawa, NYI, NYR, N.J.) for the last 3 spots. In my mind this allows for so many more options and with our strong ROW we might just get there.

Damn, I wasn't following the GDT or PGT at the game. Do I lose my winnipegger card if I went to BDI for a Goog Special instead of getting a slurpee.

Let me start by saying that the Jets winning is awesome! Their play as of late, much better.

With that said, why the **** aren't we getting any help from the Caps' opponents you know by BEATING THEM?!?! Seriously, you shut down Ovi, you win... It is that simple. Lots of people would prefer the Jets as the 3rd seed over the Caps, not many people like them as a team.

Though right now the Panthers fans don't like us, something about its our fault their team got hosed... and the hit on Little was legal.... THEN WHY WAS HE BLEEDING!!! Stick/elbow to the face = blood 9/10

So great fun at the game.

My wife and I joined another couple for a dinner before and had some laughs and then a buddy from town and a friend from Toronto flew in for the game and I let my wife pound a few beers and I was the DD. last season my wife was pregnant and missed allot of games and this season she has been a bit busy so it was great to see her let loose and have fun. The Jets thing is still a bit of a mild sales job for me although now that she can have a beer or two she seems to be ejoying the experience allot more. My buddy from Toronto was blown away by the atmosphere at the game and said he would be embarrassed to have me out to a game at the ACC (although I assume now that the leafs are in a playoff drive the building is more run).

Forwards were flying right out of the gate....Pavs and the D looked shaky until the time out and Pavs still fought the puck all night but hung in and stopped it which is what counts. very rare to be at a game where the pressure is off in the 3rd period and you can sit and relax.

I agree with what folks said about Clitty.....he looked very good last night in both ends of the rink and was our best D man. Burmi's played very well and that line has some chemistry I would like to see them stay together. Buff has played better the last two games. Bogo and the Haines had a slow start but settled down after the time out. I thought Postma looked a bit more at home in our zone and he looked better than the last time I saw him live.

Florida had a very tough night defensively and I felt bad for their goalie because it really got away on him.

All in all it's great to be alive and Legitimatley in a playoff race with only a handful of games to go.

Washington is pi55ing me off but they are full marks for where they are at right now.....they have been the best team in the east over this stretch and are earning everything these days and when good Ovi shows up he is next to impossible to shut down. My hope is that the clock strikes midnight on them here and they have a mini skid but I wouldn't hold my breath.
