I didn't get to watch the game. What did he get a double unsportsmanlike for?

Thorbs took one of the Panthers out with a clean hit (from what I could tell) right by the Jets bench. George challenged Thorbs next time they were on the ice together and Thorbs passed and George picked up a penalty for his efforts then melted down and got a 2nd, or additional 2 minutes for unsportsmanlike.

I believe his tantrum in the penalty box where he slammed his stick into the glass was the additional thing he got "T'd up" for.

Makes sense Hank that was right below where I sit and the crowd was all standing and chirping and I couldn't see what happened.

glad George showed some humor about it today.

LOL... worst thing you can do after a win IMO is go over to the other side's boards here on HF.

People are generally ignorant and still seem to think calling the team the Thrashers is some big insult towards Winnipeg fans.

Jesus there's some sensitive people on this board.

Who cares if they call you the Thrashers or w/e stupid name another fan base comes up with. Doing the same simply makes you as bad and ignorant as they are.

Let. It. Go.

Well, at least we Thrashed the Panthers

Let the Quebec Nordiques think what they want :sarcasm:

In all seriousness it doesn't hurt my feelings at all.
The Jets were the Thrashers two seasons ago; it is their franchise history.

If they are trying to insinuate the team sucks from it...
Meh... let them try to use the "Oh ya? Well, you suck" insult and shrug it off for juvenile thought that it is.

Edit:
I do find it perplexing that they try to defend the hit by saying most on our GDT thought it was legal and then follow it up saying most Winnipegers don't seem to know the rules...
Bit contradictory don't you think?
Oh well :)

I guess if I'm going to break the 1,000 PIM barrier it may as well be to a sold out crowd yelling at my moustache

Good on him. It seems pretty obvious that even visiting players appreciate what the crowds at the hanger bring. And I do agree with those that thought last night was a really fun game to be at. One of my most enjoyable.

Whether you believe them or not, most players will say they like getting singled out by opposing fans. A boo's like a cheer, et cetera. It's not like invisible fourth liners get serenaded by the yahoos in the 300s :D

Someone in the 'epic crowd moments' topic on the main board took to making derisive comments about our fanbase's attempts to "hex" opposing players by chanting their names, as if we believe that it's some misguided attempt to get into the head of the pro hockey player. I don't think it clued in to the guy that our fanbase does it for fun, because it is fun.

Just a short note... you guys have a good chance to catch the Rangers regardless of their games in hand... just keep winning. We CBJ fans know Claud well, great coach-tons of emotion and smarter than some may think.... !

Do it!!!

the Rangers and Senators remain our best chances of making the playoffs. The Sens seem to be leveling off, but the Rangers are still pretty meek right now.

Catching the Rangers would troll Torts a bit as well. :naughty:That would be a tough pill for Sather to swallow. On balance though I don't care what team stumbles in front of us.

If 8th is our destiny I would love it to be at the expense of the Rangers.

A certain clown on our board would beg to differ

That may be so, but I would much prefer to see the Islanders make the playoffs. They almost seem like a kindred spirit to the Jets. I young team building through the draft, that no one but their fans seem to believe in.

The Rags on the are the exact opposite...they are the lets try to buy ourselves a champion year after year. And Torts blowup after losing out to the lowly Jets and Islanders would be priceless.
