Keep/Fire Drury and/or Laviolette

For the people crying about media availability, this is how it has been with every GM this team has had forever.

I don't know why the org doesn't want to them to more appearances, but this isn't exclusive to Drury. We barely heard from JG or Sather when they were in charge either.

You get one spot at the beginning of the season, one at the deadline, one at the end of the season, maybe one at the draft and then one after free agency unless theres something major that happens along the way.

I really think they're going to replace Housley and keep Lavi on a short leash next year that he'll run out of <10 games in.

Then just fire him after this season if you're already anticipating it happening by October/November later this year. It gives a new coach the entire offseason to meet the players, set the standard, and go from there. Laviolette isn't suddenly going to completely revamp his coaching tactics and get the remnants of this roster to buy into his gameplan. There isn't going to be that much turnover in the offseason.

Has anyone on the beat asked Lavi at any point this season why he and Housley view man-on-man as the best D strategy for this group? It's insane how easily and consistently they've conceded the middle of the ice. I'd bring back Torts just to run the D.

I honestly don't think Housley has much of a say in the matter......I distinctly remember seeing somewhere that Lavvy stated that playing man to man was his preference and his decision alone.

We didn't.

It was the same deal - camp, deadline, end of season, draft, development camp after the draft sometimes, free agency and random appearance if something big happened (the letter/winning the draft lottery/new HC hire.)

It's been this way forever and fans have complained about it for just as long. I think putting the clamps on the GM is dumb and it'd be nice to hear from them a bit more throughout the season but the reality is they aren't really going to give us any more info than we're getting from other people.

The org in general has always been way more inaccessible than others. it's a valid complaint but it's not any worse than its ever been.

It’s the same with the Knicks, Leon Rose has only done one taped MSG Network interview with Mike Breen. Dolan hates the media, so it’s no surprise the GMs don’t do much media at all.

If he's not the worst GM in the NHL, he's right up there. He's the most responsible for this organization being a dumpster fire. You can't fire 20+ players, but you can fire the guy who put these 20+ players on one team. The team's success the past two seasons mostly due to the players Gorton/JD acquired (exception being Trocheck). Tarasenko, Motte (twice), Wennberg, Kane, Copp, Vatrano, Braun...they didn't get us to the SCF, did they? And not one of them returned. Pure rentals and he pissed away future assets. The only decent moves he ever made were signing Quick (who would've signed here anyway because he always wanted to be a Ranger) and Trocheck, but Trocheck has been absolute garbage this year, despite acquiring his childhood BFF JT Miller.

If Drury is brought back, I'm done. He's a joke. He's a f***ing stain on this franchise.

I feel we need to hire an experienced defensive coach. We need to be good enough at offense and great on defense which will highlight our strong goal tending. Tired of run and gun and man to man.

Paul Mara is in Hartford, I have no idea why they never fired Laviolette months ago and put the Hartford coaches as interim and see how it goes.

The only way I could (barely) tolerate Drury coming back is with a Team President in charge. Don Maloney, Adam Graves, Henrik, Mess whoever. I think if he had to answer to someone, I could live with it.

I guess, but I'd rather have a president pick his own GM. That president shouldn't have to inherit his underling, especially one as incompetent as Dreary.
