Say it aint so.Ken is in his mid 60’s. Mickey is in his late 70’s. Unfortunately theres gonna be a major changing of the guard in the next few years from the voices we grew up with.
The NAME is the important thing for inspiring the necessary schtick. You gotta keep it going. I imagine a future of young Wings fans that only know of Keats because you kept the schtick up. Someday, you may pass the mantle on to another as well. You can be the tribute that makes his memory live on in perpetuity.
You need to apply for his job. Dale Keating, John’s long-lost brother who was thought dead years ago.Do I retire my schtick after this season? Is it gauche to continue?
This may be the first thing you and I have ever agreed on.Ken is in his mid 60’s. Mickey is in his late 70’s. Unfortunately theres gonna be a major changing of the guard in the next few years from the voices we grew up with.

Perfect opportunity for them to finally promote Daniella Bruce.
I've only seen/heard her do some interviews. Does she know her stuff? Could she do post games in a flannel like Mickey? She was also my first thought when I did read about this.
In addition to the interviews, she has always wanted to be a broadcaster and filled in for Paul Woods in 2022:I've only seen/heard her do some interviews. Does she know her stuff?
Well she's already worn plaid during games, so I'll say yes.Could she do post games in a flannel like Mickey?
Cool.In addition to the interviews, she has always wanted to be a broadcaster and filled in for Paul Woods in 2022:
History made: Daniella Bruce becomes first woman in Red Wings broadcast booth
Daniella Bruce becomes first woman in Red Wings broadcast booth as she was on the mic for Saturday's game.www.wxyz.com

Ew no.
Daniella Bruce should get this gig.
Right.... They should probably just stay home and cook, right?
NO NO NO NO NO
So few marginally acceptable female on camera personalities being pushed on us for no reason. Listening to the men fawn over them asking a "good question" or them speaking to the physical aspect of the game, is like being scolded after being out too late with the boys. LOL!
I like her interviews and such, but I'd rather see Trevor in the role and she replace him.

wtf? We're talking about replacing one of the most awkward tv broadcasters I've ever seen. Jimmy Howard held a spot for a couple seasons and he was terrible. Ozzy was awful his first season on the air.
What men are fawning over them? Most men whine about female commentators because as a sports-loving man's man, they apparently don't want any women around.
Right.... They should probably just stay home and cook, right?
Jimmy Howard wasn't being looked at to replace Keating, nor is Murph or Ozzie. They are expert commentators. None of them qualify and Howard shouldn't be on air, period.
Fawning - Ever watch a ESPN telecast? Heck just the last game they were a gush over a TV time out bench question. Listening to female commentators on the physical aspect of the game or any aspect of the athleticism, is even worse.
I did say I was all for promoting her into Trevor's role. IMO, he has earned the desk.
As long as they are not commenting on men's hockey, they do not necessarily need to be cooking. Plenty of other work around the house. That or they could break dance.
Exactly. I'm a flippin' dinosaur who hates seeing chicks around contact sports, and I think she's done fine (once y'all pointed out who she was to me ) and could definitely be fun and informative behind a desk, or interviewing like she does.wtf?
