Yeah well we're talking about getting a prime age, top 2 D-man in league, future hall of famer locked in for next 8 years. You gotta give to get.

Also they still have Tyler Johnson at #2 even if Point is gone.

I can bet with you they will never trade point, I even think they woudl trade Kuche ( for a higher price) before Point.
They see in him a futur #1C who can dominate the game with his speed. TB direction is highly high on him.
I bet they can move Palat/Johnson/gourde before him.

I don't think they could or would take Ryan. Kucherov needs a big pay day next season.

Like I said the price between Ryan and Callahan is just 1.45, Ryan is the better player so that extra will be worth it on ice. Another year off his deal and he becomes a little easier to move next year which we could do with him or Callahan, who's looking like a buyout candidate. Even with Kucherov and Karlsson we can make things work it'll just take another trade or two to shed a little more cap, Johnson, Miller or Killorn.

They'd have the edge, but it would be nothing when you look at the whole roster build up.
You're the one that said Tampa's 5 forwards would be equal to Toronto's so I was just proving that to be false. Never talked about the whole roster

Not sure Tampa still has all those forwards after a Karlsson trade

Miller is the only guy without a no movement according to a tampa fan in another thread. He might be involved.

Id guess its something like Sergachev, Raddych/Katchouk with either Palat or Johnson getting flipped to another team after they waive for the deal.

Yep a 3 way deal has been mentioned,it wouldnt surprise me TBH
TJ would have to waive. JT doesnt have any protection this year. I am sure they could get a good deal for either of those players from a contender

This has been the craziest summer since when?

If Tampa gets Karlsson Toronto will have to get that first spot in the division to face a wild card spot. No way in hell do i want to see a Tampa vs leafs matchup in the first round :o

Sharks did it with Seto to get Burns and there were no repercussions down the road

You can't say that with 100% certainty. Could've been trade deals to Sharks that fell through over it, or UFAs passing on San Jose. Also one assumes people that do sign will be extra demanding on NTC/NMC because they don't trust Wilson as much.

I wonder if it might be as simple as a Kucherov for Karlsson trade.

Not a chance that this is the deal, I don't know how yzerman is going to do it but Kucherov is not going anywhere, He would not do the deal if he knew that he could not resign Kucherov in the summer.

Dont tell that to Dallas or Tampa fans. They are getting Karlsson for scraps and the sens are gonna like it! Just go read the all encompassing Karlsson thread its all there. They have me convinced as a sens fan that Karlsson has no value even with an extension in place. I have been told im stupid for thinking otherwise.

Well in all fairness, he is not the same player he was before the foot and achilles injuries. He is not young, but also not old, but injuries have hurt him a bit.

Now, in saying that, he is still one of the best, but I would not lock hm up for 7-8 years right now, or give up too many assets. Somebody will of course, but I wouldn't.

Disappointed Stars aren't getting him. Feels like a done deal that he is going to Tampa

It would obviously be the case in a trade with Karlsson, but the Sens need a 1st for next years draft. Not having one and being as bad as they are is obviously terrible for the management and the future, but it also just haunts the fans and gives them more reason to be angry. Gaining the pick would do a little in appeasing the fan base.

Kucherov+ Stamkos vs Tavares+ Matthews.
Point+ Miller+Palat vs MarnerNylander+ Kadri.

Edge for Toronto, but Kadri will be on the 3rd line I'm assuming?

Ottawa
If it does happen, perhaps:

TB: Karlsson (Signed)
Ottawa: Sergachev, Johnson, TB 2nd Rounder 2019

Sen's get Johnson to slot in at 2C and young d-man to fill Karlsson's absence. TB gets Hedman/Karlsson bromance.

If Dorion doesn't get a haul for Karlsson he should be fired immediately. He actually has a bidding war this time and a player with a bargain year left on his current deal.
