Second favourite handshake moment of Karlsson's. The other was after the Rangers beat them in game 7 of the first round in 2012, when the microphones picked him up jokingly telling Lundqvist "You ****ing pig monkey!" in Swedish (well, Småländska, close enough)

Karlsson is a fantastic player, and the respect he has and receives from his peers is deserving and awesome.

That was awesome seeing him with McAvoy the kid, as well as Chara, the veteran.

Both McAvoy and Chara deserve mad respect. Don't need to say much about McAvoy that hasn't been said already but Chara was awesome. Wish we still had him.

Even as a Swede my respect for Karlsson has grown. Seldom have I seen a team being so dependent on one player as the Senators this round. No disrespect for the rest of the team (which is good) its just that Karlsson plays so well, has the puck so much and dictates the play like no other defender when on the ice.

He was clearly the difference this round.

Still think he needs to cut his hair. Keep waiting for him to pull out his bow and arrow and confess he is actually a wood elf from Lord of the Rings.

I wish I had his flow, to be honest. I want to hate him but I just can't, was expecting him to dive and flop all series but it turns out his teammates were the ones who did.

I respected Karlsson before the series. My respect for him grew exponentially after that handshake line. Just showed a ton of class.

I haven't seen much of Karlsson prior to this series, not interested in Ottawa, highlight here and there but you need to watch whole game to realize what he does for his team. Playing so many minutes and having puck on his stick for so much time, everything starts with him. Working his way with puck in the D zone and endless breakout passes. As mentioned already, wanted to hate him but can't, not yet at least.

Mad respect for this man. I really had no idea how good he really was on the ice and then you throw some crazy good sportsmanship in the mix, total win.

What a moment with McAvoy, kid will never forget that one.

I'm surprised he told everyone about his injury - why would he do that before the end of their season?

That kid's going to be a pretty big deal himself.

Whatever Karlsson said to him, McAvoy looked like, "woah....this superstar just said that to me?" Just a cool moment even if we don't know what he said haha

Hope some journalist asks him that in the upcoming interviews....on the other hand we pretty much know already.

Why were fans booing him, again? Did he do or something offensive, and I missed it?

Because if we booed him just because he's so good, then that's pretty weak.

Happens around the league. Fans become involved and try to get in the heads of players and goalies by booing and chanting. Happens in all sports, most of the time its the best players getting the most attention. Chara for example gets booed almost every arena Ive been to.

Yeah, he pretty much carries Ottawa's offense. :sarcasm:

Hell baby
Guy makes some incredible plays

Him and McAvoy are gonna have some more wars. I'm glad they have a lot of respect for each other

Was planning on rooting for Ottawa going forward anyway because of the Andersons, but this helped. Only thing I fear is they win and the copycat NHL every team plays a 1-3-1 next year.
