Vintage HF right here. Muffin speaks with total conviction despite not knowing player has been injured. Ignorance really is bliss
You know he slowed down before he got injured right? There’s something called the points per game stat, maybe look that up too.

Didn’t know you guys would get so defensive saying he’s not with the best in the league. It’s no shame being in that next tier with guys like Rantanen. He’s just not a Art Ross or Hart contender

You know he was slowing down before that right? If anything being injured helps his points per game because he’s been trending down
Yes, he (at the same time as the team) was on a point-per-game slump while playing injured. It's actually been sort of a blessing in disguise that he's finally gone on IR. The team seems to have discovered how to win without relying on him. They're not as good without him, to be clear, but he isn't the whole team either.

Anyway, the full body of his play before going on IR had him 2nd or 3rd in points. Doesn't seem delusional to have thought he might have a chance at winning the race. I think a stronger argument could be made that it was delusional not to think he'd have a chance.

What do you think Rantanen & Draisatl would put up with Rossi & Zuccarello? Makar, McDavid & MacKinnon are all clearly superior to those 2. Drai is tier 2, at best

The injury has certainly taken him out of the Ross race. Think he's still very much in the Hart and Richard race (still sitting 2nd in goals).

My comment was more on the Wild falling off. They had a bad 4 game stretch without JEE and Kaprizov playing hurt. JEE back has helped a ton, and Kaprizov isn't too far away. They've basically said he could play on it, but they want him healthy in April/May not in January.
Yeah could maybe be for real. Im just betting on the Avs getting over their injury and goaltender woes and thinking the Stars "should" be the team to beat in the Central. That puts the Wild in the 4 hole for me.

would be wild if he continued the trend he's had his entire career and picks up his scoring pace significantly the last half of the season. He's always been a slow starter. If that was his slow start this year he might still win this thing.

I mean Kaprizov is a great player for a team like Minnesota who doesn’t have any other great players.

However, on a team like the Avalanche, he’d be the 4th option, at best. He’s not better than MacKinnon, Rantanen, or Makar. I also don’t think that he’s better than Val, who’s a much more complete player.

Yes he’s very fortunate to be allowed to play in the same league as the Avs players.

Nah. Just sit there in your wrongness and be wrong.
Just sit there and be homer. You might disagree with Val being better, but I don’t see you disagreeing with my previous point.

As good as Kaprizov is, he’d be the 4th option at best on the Avs. He’s a cute player who disappears in the playoffs, but I guess that’s a world-beater for Mild fans.

Yeah, I'm a "homer" because I think Kaprizov is much better than Nichushkin. Sure.

This isn't basketball, there isn't a "4th option" in hockey.

Kaprizov puts up Rantanen numbers with no MacKinnon and no Makar. Full stop. There isn't an amount of forechecking that makes up for that.

Speaking of disappearing in the playoffs, didn't Nichushkin actually flat out leave?
