Sorry but that is all on Vanecek. That was a nothing play. He gave up a bad rebound on a soft shot. The goal was a bit soft too.

No I didn't. But it was a nothing play. A very easy save on a soft shot. You can't kick out a rebound like that on that soft shot.

Now we’re chasing the game and have lost all composure and structure. Embarrassing collapse. Go -1 for 6 on PPs and you deserve every inch of what you get. And don’t blame it on the call-ups, they did their job. It’s the regulars who let us down tonight — VV, Sprong, Ovie, Dowd, Eller

The one thing that can be faulted is effort. The lack of effort in this game should be skated hard tomorrow morning.

Forsythe will get the “Caps are short handed” excuse again, never mind that the PP had been an unmitigated disaster even with plenty of talent. Our net PP% isn’t just bottom half, it is near the bottom. If Lavi is serious about winning a SC, I don’t see how he can reasonably keep the video guy. Or he forces a fundamental change of approach, even if it gives Blayne a peptic ulcer.
