Uh-oh. This might not end well. I really hope this isn't true. I'm not going to comment any further.

How about this money goes to girls heads when they look at athletes like ATM machines. Nothing has gone to his head. He met her at a bar she went home with him. Did she think they were going to play scrabble? I hope he got the tip in dunk!!

Let's reverse this and turn it into you or myself. You take a chick home from a bar and the next day police are investigating us. I should have been smarter... maybe we're the victims. We didn't calculate when she got to our houses that she would capitalize on the fact that we were millionaires. It's our fault we didn't take her to a hotel, because it would be more obvious. Bringing her to our homes confused her she thought it was popcorn and movie night.

This has little to do with Kane's maturity. He's a normal 26 year old male.

You know what consent is, right?

We also know nothing about the specifics of the case, so don't act like you can turn this on us like it's the exact same thing, don't act misogynistic towards whomever the victim may be, and don't act like you know what Kane's motives may or may not have been.

I get the desire to defend Kane, but can we please not act like this girl is a gold digger when we know literally nothing about her or the situation.

Exactly.

In a bubble, the odds of this being true unfortunately are much greater than the odds that she is lying.

That's not making any judgement on whether or not he's guilty.

Here's Tim Graham on WGN Radio. Starts around the 7:30 mark.

http://wgnradio.com/2015/08/06/kap-...-tim-graham-patrick-kane-update-from-buffalo/

He doesn't really say anything new, but he does give a broad overview that the tone from his sources is: ‘It’s looking more ominous than not’

Sounds like the reporters have heard more than they're reporting, but are making sure they have all of their facts lined up with their attorneys' approval.

"It doesn't look good for Patrick Kane" :(

I'm not sure about that. At this moment its an accusation. I just tried to google it but I couldn't really find any data on the amount of cases that go from accusation->trial->guilty. Knowing how hard rape is to prove, I doubt that it is over 50%, but again, I don't really have data to back that up.

Even if they settle this will still tarnish his career. Just like the Kobe rape.

This is definitely true for the average fan and the majority of fans of other teams.

I've always watched fans of teams try to defend against these kind of accusations (Kobe, Penn State with JoPa) and there's really just no good way to do it. No matter what the majority of people are going to look at Kane different now.

I can't even begin to express how ****ing disappointed and angry I am about this. Even if it turns out to not be true, how Kane can even put himself in this situation after what happened two summers ago, I have no idea.

Because he's been a ****ing moron from day 1?

People are reacting like this is in any way out of character for Patrick Kane.

I didn't specify this girl was under age. I just made a general statement that a girl under age can't legally consent to sex. I don't believe I need a source to say that. It should be common knowledge.

No, you shouldn't, and I think you made it clear that you were not speaking specifically about this case, but instead about any case in general that might involve a girl under the age of consent.

There is a case in the news right now involving a young man that I think is 19 or 20 years of age that met a girl on line that claimed to be 18. He had sex with her, turns out she was 14 years old. He was convicted of statutory rape. Now he is listed as a sex offender. Can't be in a house where there is internet access, can't have a computer, can't have a smart phone, etc.

Guys need to be really careful and check the young lady's age if there is any doubt whatsoever. Whether this applies to Kane in this case, no one knows at this time.

I hope this ends like our Varlamov case. Semyon had a great season, including good games against the Blackhawks while he had a court case in 2013-2014.

I just don't think anyone wants to believe one of the stars of their franchise, one of the best players in the NHL, is possibly a rapist. This goes way beyond anything we've seen him accused of before.

Somewhere between 2-8% of rape accusations are false according to the FBI and pretty much every study on the matter.

The odds are not on Kane's side here.

More than likely, something happened. Could it be a grey area? Sure. He-said, she-said almost always is. But more than likely, Kane did something stupid.

So, now you guys have a Mike Richards-like situation on your hands. It's been a great summer for hockey players, hasn't it?
