3rd game and 1 goal and 2 assists - 1st star - 9pts in 3 games - would be great if we have a good defender who is excellent offensively in a few years

So many things impressive about this...one being that when a player comes back from an injury (and missing most of training camp) that it takes them a few games to get going and Clague jumped in and seems to have elevated his game to the next level. He's also an alternate captain this year. I would not be shocked to see him bypass AHL and go straight to the Kings in 2 years. Does not matter that the organizations way is to play AHL. This kid may transcend.

I just don't see that happening. The transition from juniors to the NHL is HUGE. I would have to see more of him, though. Maybe I'll buy a game or two.

Yes, it is HUGE to go from juniors to the NHL. A few 18 year olds do it every year...but I stated in 2 years. he will be 20 by then and possibly scoring 100 points and playing at a level beyond his peers. Defensemen that have can skate and have exceptional offensive ability and instincts
can make it much quicker. He should hopefully be 6'1" 200 by then.
Ii didn't state I expect him to be able to step out of juniors to the Kings...merely wouldn't be shocked.

He's also LHD, so he's got at least Muzzin, McNabb, Martinez in front of him on the NHL roster alone. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see him leapfrog the other LHD prospects and snag a roster spot at a young-ish age but this isn't a LaDue situation where there's a severe shortage of RHD in the system.

Sure. I understand. I wasn't trying to sound combative :)

I guess I should look at the year.

Page fooled me at first too. I was looking forward to watching Barrie/Mississauga.

I have a few friends up in Seattle, so I've been making an annual trip to go up there and take in a WHL game. Last year I went back a 2nd time when Seattle played Brandon in the WHL Finals. Clague will definitely have room to grow with Provorov in the NHL.

It's too bad Brandon only plays the US WHL clubs every other year.

Actually its just Amart. He's the only lefty puckmover in front of him. The fact that Greene is the only right hander shut down guy is a bigger problem for him though.

Another three point night for Clague. That's 10 points in 5 games now.

Good grief, the guy is nuclear.

That's probably true. The 'configurations' are a bigger issue, though I can't imagine DL/DS (should they still be around at that point) having SIX lefties out there. Five is already rough for Marty, but who knows.

Im actually looking forward to seeing that Forbort-Gravel pairing sometime this season, even though Forbs and Tom have played pretty darn well.....Kale Clague looks to be a more dynamic Voynov and lets be honest any kid named after a veggie has to be one tough SOB....
