Yeah Gallants already short shelf life was also shorter with the Rangers. Something is off there.
When Gallant got the job, many thought it would not last for long.

Just a pure guess, but there might be some issue with their traditionalism, top-down leadership or maybe just some stuck habits. Unsurprisingly the older player like Trouba, Zibanejad haven't said anything.

edit: other option is that the players are just fed up with Laviolette and want him ejected bit like Oilers did to Jay Woodcroft.

From all of this, someone picks up their this season's Connor McMichael for a bargain price. He's another one of the guys Laviolette kept healthy-scratching without even having the courtesy to tell him why.

Good for him to speak up. Most of the vets on that team have been straight up garbage but Laviolette is well known for coddling his vets and there is no way he'd actually consider scratching them other than some 30-year old fringe NHL'er whose role is to be scratched.

I don't like Kakko's comment because he's basically trying to say he's been better than other players, throwing his teammates under the bus. I don't think that's something you say publicly.

Nah he's not a twat, just a humble & frustrated

He only talks about rangers mistreating him and not about others

Read the quote again?

"Haven’t been on the ice too much when [opponents] score a goal… I have not been the worst guy, but that was me out of the lineup.”

The poster is a notorious Kakko hater, keep it in mind. It's not about objectively interpreting what's being said. It's about this being an opportunity to bash Kakko.

You just quoted the opposite yourself.

If Kakko doesn't think he's been the worse guy on the team, he's saying there are worse guys than him and that they are the ones who should be out of the lineup.

It's hockey. It's not like they can dress 21 players.

I don't think he said anything about changing the lineup other than that healthy scratching him was unwarranted.

I know this is a subtlety but I think you can genuinely express that you weren't the guy that should have been scratched without directly throwing other players under the bus, which he didn't.

Saying you think you're playing good minutes isn't bad. If there are other forwards out there that aren't even capable of being that self-aware and measure themselves against their teammates but want to be upset about what he said they're probably the same guys sucking the life out of the team.

Saying he's not been the worst while not naming any names is not throwing team mates under the bus. If there's a single soul within that organization thinking Kakko's incorrect well there's your problem. One of them.

Good for Kakko. A lot of teams in the Central could use him pretty nicely. Happy trails.

Kakko +9

Usually goals determ the winner. Yeah, Kakko has been worse with 13min/gp and minimal PP? :D

I would say that he's criticizing his coach's decision more than he's throwing his teammates under the bus.

He's upset that he got benched. Isn't that a good thing, that he cares enough to speak up about it?

I truly don't know which I'm enjoying more right now - the Devils' relative success, or the Rangers absolute nuclear meltdown.

Ship Kakko off for spare parts so he can break out somewhere else, please Drury do it.

So then we can use xGF% for example where Kakko is 50.32% and Zibanejad 43.97%, or HDCF% where Kakko is 50.40% and Zibanejad 42.86%... Or do these stats, too, not count for some reason?
No, why would those stats don't count? They are famously better predictors than +/-, which the posts I responded to was talking about.

Is this nonsense of your angrily attacking my posts because they aren't discussing extraneous information from the topic, whether thread topic or the quoted post, going to become a habit? Because it's rather tiresome to have to explain to you that just because my post didn't mention something unrelated doesn't mean I'm trying to hide information.

This edition of the Rangers is very easy to hate. Lucked out with their retool after some players forced their way there and then won the lottery a couple times. This meltdown is lovely to watch

Kakko shoots off mouth and then misses an open net against the worst team (well, second worst team) in last night’s game . Mark Messier he ain’t.
