I am thinking that back in the day Lou got rid of coaches for less and at a higher place in the standings when he did so. The Rangers scenario is sort of wild in that it possible that both the coach AND general manager seem like they have lost the team.

I'm interested if he becomes available as a pens fan.

I know Kakko is unhappy but unhappy enough to sit in the stands and root for the Penguins seems like it wouldn't solve things. Okay that was funnier in my head but it is an interesting question as to whether they would want to trade him inside the division and if a division for would think the assets they give up worth that.

When leadership is scummy and not accountable it filters down to the locker room and coaches. Drury is not the right person for that job and he needs to go. He’s created such a toxic culture with his shenanigans this past year.

He absolutely did not create this mess. This is completely on Drury and upper management. Say what you will about Goodrow and Troubas contracts but the way Drury handled both of them was completely unprofessional. Nobody forced them to hand out those contract numbers with NMCs. Everyone on here is blaming Trouba for not waiving and calling him entitled, a baby etc but the management drew up those contracts not the player. If you don’t think those 2 situations have trickled down to the team then you’re only fooling yourself. And Kakko is calling it like it is. Laviolette saying “I’ve benched vets too” is bullshit. He benched Smith and Brodzinski and Brodzinski isn’t even a regular player. Hes kn and out of the lineup every other game. It’s time to sit Zibanejad, Kreider, Fox and maybe even Panarin. Kakko was one of the last guys that needed to sit.

Don’t look that far into his stat line. The second PP unit gets about 25 seconds per power play. His numbers would be better if they actually gave him PP time. That being said he has more 5v5 points then the “stars” Kreider and Zibanejad.

So then we can use xGF% for example where Kakko is 50.32% and Zibanejad 43.97%, or HDCF% where Kakko is 50.40% and Zibanejad 42.86%... Or do these stats, too, not count for some reason?
