Flames would be all over this.
We have a mix of veterans, a boatload of young NHLers, prospects and picks. Should be a no brainer depending on what NYR’s needs are.

Tyler Boucher and a conditional 3rd.

It's fair value because the Rangers and him near the top 5 in 2021. I hate to see the Senators trade him within the conference, but you have to give to get.

Kakko for Jon Merril & Marat Khusnutdinov
Did you make that second player up?

Two 2nds and Conor Sheary for Kappo Kakko

If someone is actually offering two seconds for Kakko, Chris Drury will commanders the ferry required to get him out of New York City.

I really hope Kakko doesn't have to be the sacrifice. Please god no
lol wild aren't trading any C's , not any Russians. So you will take merrill and 3 or 4th round pick. He's a stud 4th line C now who can easily become 2 or 3c or top 6 foward.

So basically, like every other thread involving any Rangers player

- It doesn't matter what he is good at, he is not a PPG player so hes not that valuable.

- He won't bring a 1st rounder.

- His value is falling rapidly by the hour.

- His return will likely bring in a failed former 1st rounder who has played like 10 NHL games plus a late pick or ageing middle 6 nobody.

- Every team wants him but none will be willing to go to a bidding war.

- He is done in NY and should be traded for the first low ball offer.

- It doesn't matter what NYR needs are, he will be traded for scraps.

Does this about sum it up?

Most trade threads are like that, regardless of team

I think Kakko would be a good pickup for the Blues after they can jettison some cap off the team (Saad and Texier for example) sadly I don't think the Blues have the assets to make a deal work.

Tho, he does fit in with the ages that Armstrong has been targeting (Broberg and Holloway as example) so he might throw an offer out to see what happens.

Kakko is either going to Edmonton or the Ducks
Kakko would be lights out playing with that Oilers roster. Oilers don't stymie offensive hockey. As long as you help out your defenders on the backcheck, you get free reign up front

Dallas makes a ton of sense, a ton of Finns and DeBoer has a track record with slower skaters being decent in his system
