absolutely. if everything goes well, we might challenge for the playoff spot as soon as next season. if everything goes badly, we could rebuild indefinitely.Winning dictates the “end” of a rebuild.
I think it's premature to trade Guhle. But if you draft Dickinson because you think he's a true number 1, with offense and defense, then that allows you to go Dickenson-Hutson- Xhekaj on the left side long term. Once you establish this is a great left side as part of a great dcore, it would allow you to move Guhle and Matheson for good forward pieces. But it's premature to say Dickinson- Hutson- Xhekaj is the long term answer on the left side. Why would we trade our best young Dmen ? Where at position or strength for #4-5 LD not for 1st pair LD, he’s the only one with that celling
How about trading Suzuki for another top 5 pick?

Please...we are not the Toronto Maple Leafs! We should honestly consider trading Slafkovsky while is value is high, hope we can get more draft picks for the 10 year rebuild.

i agree, he will be too old to fit with the core once Habs will be contendersHow about trading Suzuki for another top 5 pick?
Leafs are in the 57th years of their 3 years rebuildPlease...we are not the Toronto Maple Leafs!
It's a great young nucleus, plus Xhekaj and Matheson.A top 4 of Hutson, maillioux, Reinbacher, Guhle has the potential to be pretty damn strong imo. Some question marks there, but I think they all are going to be top 4 dmen. Debatable who has the most upside.
Lane Hutson is already 20 and just has 2 career points, we should trade him for a 1st and pick this Cole Hutson kidHow about trading Suzuki for another top 5 pick?

So the Habs are gunning for a bottom 5 finish?People that think this so called "rebuild" is over is out to lunch....we started our rebuild in 2021 its been 3 years.....
I think Demidiv, Lindstrom, Iginla project to be better than just ok wingers….we are 99.999% not drafting a LHD.It's a great young nucleus, plus Xhekaj and Matheson.
But if there's a player we project to he an elite number 1 dman available at 5th overall, and only ok second line wingers, I draft the dman even if he's an LD. I don't trade down just to get a second rounder.
Why not keep Guhle and get a young core forward at #5? You know, one tha tmight actually be ready before 2035.If we can get core young forward might move him. Allows us to draft Dickinson
The rebuild started in 2021 but 95% of the core players are 2020 or prior picks ? The rebuild started when they traded Pacioretty, it doesn't matter if HuGo weren't there, thats when we stopped moving out quality pieces and started accumulating. Suzuki, Caufield, Guhle, Roy, Mailloux and Dach (Romanov) are all assets accumulated prior to 2021. The rebuild needs to be done now, we need to enter win mode WITH THE PLAYERS WE CURRENTLY HAVE. It doesn't mean we have to make the playoffs, but the winning culture needs to start getting instaured. We need to see a winning curve like Edmonton and Carolina have had.People that think this so called "rebuild" is over is out to lunch....we started our rebuild in 2021 its been 3 years.....
If you htink Dickinson is a 1D then you draft him and you trade players later. I think Guhle can be a 1D myself.I think it's premature to trade Guhle. Kaiden Guhle hasn't played a full season since 2019-2020. That's taking into account shortened seasons because of COVID.
He's injured more often than Benoit Brunet was FFS. If someone offers a good top 6 player, you take it and run.
I like the player and he has great potential, but he'll be useless on the LTIR.

I don’t think that will be our options. I also think team building is often ignored when it comes to drafting by fans. The reality is those surplus of dmen are nice assets to have, but they are unlikely to improve our forward situation in a trade imo. It's a great young nucleus, plus Xhekaj and Matheson.

He missed games 9 games this year because he got hit by an extremely dirty player. Ridiculous to hold that against him.Kaiden Guhle hasn't played a full season since 2019-2020. That's taking into account shortened seasons because of COVID.
