Player Discussion Kaiden Guhle

Yeah. We were the last people in the street to have a VCR. Forget about an Atari. I got one when I had a paper route and by then people had a Colecovision. So I bought one of those just before they stopped making stuff and bought the ADAM computer that came with it.

Good times

We were also the last with a VCR, it was like 400$ at Sears in the early 80's. Be Kind, Rewind!

What a crazy situation for Guhle man, this guy has absolutely 0 luck when it comes to injuries. When it happened, I said in the GTD that it looked to be a cut, but I had no idea it would be THAT serious. Thankfully they were able to rapidly give him the care he needed, could've been much much worse.

On the other hand, this is an opportunity for Xhekaj to step up and show HuGo that he's more than a bottom pairing guy that can bring physicality and truculence.

Imo, if he can show that he can help stabilize the top 4 in case of injury, that would be huge for him and the team moving forward. Xhekaj could really solidify his place as being part of the core of this team.

To be fair they'd both lost a step and that pairing was hard to watch when trying to skate the puck 200ft.
We didn't use the drop pass to a forward but probably should have. They were Dynamite when they got set up though.
Game has changed so much. We also remember Subban’s blunders because the game was played by adult pros in a solid system; the kids are making 5 weird plays a shift these days it seems so I think we learned to see past it. Both the habs and the league seem so young.

Part of why Guhle is so valuable I feel as he reads the game well.

Reddit says hes not a reliable source?
He's definitely has certain connections but earlier this season after the Laine/Reinbacher injuries he came out saying he had a source tell him that both were done for the season. Then a few days later the team announced Laine would be back in 2 months, so after that his credibility took a blow.

A slashed quadriceps that needed surgery... doesn't qualify as a tear..?

FFS a "mild sprain" is also technically a "tear" lol..

I know people are DYING for this to be weeks.. but I'm sorry , it's months sadly
No not really. A cut and a muscle tear are different things. Now, if his foot was blue, they had to tourniquet him and he almost died, not sure that distinction really matters. He's lucky to be alive and still have his leg at all.

Oh my god I thought it was acl and that horrible for the obvious hockey reason but this is way way worst on for human reason . Happy Habs have top staff that might have saved his leg

Should have kept him playing on his off-side I guess as so many thought he was prone to get injured that way. I watched the clip over and over and what shit luck. It looked like the invisible man hit him into the boards. They said it was a laceration but to what extent as that will determine the length of recovery.

Wow I was wrong about him being cut I thought was just a leg injury.

That's super scary really hoping he's okay mentally and physically

terrible news. The journal de Québec had an article today and spoke to two orthopaedic surgeons.
Basically, if it's a smaller cut, its 6 weeks, if it's deep and affects a tendon it's up to 2-3 months and requires a lot of rehab to get the quad back to game shape strength - but it's entirely doable.
The doctors mentioned they had only seen this once in 20 years, so it's really a rare and freak accident.
Based on the anecdotes it seems to be the second cut, which means, maybe he's back if habs make playoffs.
Sending him positive vibes that he returns to full strength soon
