even with Hutson’s sorcery and everyone else, he’s arguably our best player.

Yeah, no.

It's a lot harder to find a D like Hutson than one like Guhle. The change in our transition game, offense and PP is night and day.

We're not at ,500 without either, but Hutson's been the MVP.

Guhlie getting back on his natural side has been huge for his game.............Carriere has been such a solid addition.
Hughes made a great deal with the Preds, and helped Guhlie and the team at the same time........
Win, Win all the way around.
I kept saying at the beginning of the season that putting such a young D on his off side and expecting him to look good against the best competition was ridiculous, but people kept shooting me down. Now, he is on his proper side, and he looks great.

And........people are noticing, not just habs fans...
Love this player.

Guhle and Hutson as our top 2D for years to come is just amazing to have. They are both leaders out there at such a young age. All we need to do is give them proper partners. Let's get Andersson for Hutson now, plz.
Guhle-Reinbacher will be an insane pair in 2 years.

I agree Andersson would be a perfect fit for Hutson. His mobility is almost as good as Matheson but is way more solid defensively.

'With that in mind, here’s the lo-down on Guhle’s 5v5 stats since being paired with Carrier, a move that has allowed the 23-year-old to play on his natural side.''

''Without Carrier, Guhle controlled a little less than 25 percent of the shots. With Carrier, he is controlling over 54 percent of the shots. The same phenomenon comes into play when examining other important stats.''

''Without Carrier, he controlled 26 percent of the expected goals, and 33 percent of the high-danger chances.''

I wonder how much playing meaningful games has helped the mental side of things. It can be quite hard to be at your best when the games are meaningless, but when the games matter then that competitive spirit comes out stronger, the games become fun again which reinforces all the good habits.

And despite the games being meaningful the pressure is actually probably lower thanks to Hutson taking on so much responsibility. So Guhle doesn't have to carry the D, or overthink thigs, he can just be himself play his game which just might be why we are seeing the hitting that was there in juniors but not really seen at the NHL level until recently.

It seems to me many of us have been saying it since day one that Matheson the veteran should be the one playing the right side...

You would be surprised how much push-back I got from people, and was even mocked for suggesting that Guhle playing the right side opened him up to injury as he had to hold on to the puck longer playing the wrong side. There is a reason that left shooting D playing the right side are usually vets with size.

And Xhekaj the 30th

Caufields was the 2nd

We have a lot of January kids lol

It was part of the Habs' due dilligence when they either drafted or acquired these players. Even before they hired Hughes, they checked his birthday month. His bday is on January 21st.
