Player Discussion Kaiden Guhle

Ridiculous
They just signed him to a 6 year deal
He ain't going anywhere
Shit happens sometimes

Hopefully it's more of a sprain than total ligament tear..

The real issue is if Guhle did blow the knee, it might make them re-sign Matheson, which is a complete disaster waiting to happen....
I so agree...can NOT move him
just every time a player is rumored , if that player has injuries he is a no go made of glass
get tired of the glass term to be honest

Looked like an ankle injury at the start of the incident on the replay to me. Why are we going on about the knee, the knee?

Hope it is a sprain, but that still takes a long time to heal...

The Reinbacher, Heineman, and Guhle injuries are just so dumb. Add in Dach's last year.

It's hard not to laugh at the bad luck.
Speaking of dach have to admit my heart a beat when he was leveled on the board , in a place not too far from last year injury.
Happy with two things though, one he was fine and more importantly he skated hard and knew he was going to be leveled , so it is clear he moved on from the fear of reinjuring the acl which is usually very high (speaking by experience)

Two possibilities for Kaiden Guhle:

The main concern is a skate cut

. Hopefully it is only superficial and can be closed (the return may be prolonged because sometimes you have to prevent the knee from fully flexing to prevent the wound from opening).

Hopefully the blood vessels, nerves, tendons, etc. are in good condition or else it may require surgery.

The knee was under some stress after the fall, which suggests an ACL sprain, but that is less likely in my opinion.

The time of his injury depends on the grade, but we often talk about an injury assessed from week to week." - Dr. Harjas Grewal

Lol @ the talks about trading Guhle.
AGREED

the Glass theory runs hard in these parts

Yet people want to re-sign Jake Evans
Let me ask you one thing. If Nick Suzuki get injure, you do what? Do you not see how weak our center position is with out Evans? Beck did not show he is NHL ready(yet). Hage is not going to come with us for another year. We do need Evans for the next 2-3 year.

Evans also played all 82 games last year. He also has been injury free this year.

Man. Really unfortunate if we lose Guhle for an extended period of time. Hope it's nothing serious and there's a quick recovery. I assume we'll learn more within the next day or two.

Without Guhle, I think we'll continue a pretty steady slide down in the standings.

it sure does not help
sad for sure

Marty looked shocked on the bench. I can’t imagine it was close to good news. I’m sure this’ll be long term.

It was only a matter of time. They have been very lucky this year, especially in goal and on D.

I thought it was the knee when I saw him down on the ice with his hand on his knee and looking at it. But yeah, it could be the ankle too.

It's funny, he seems to always be injured but not really.

Think about the usage with Matheson (too high) and then think about Guhle who is basically our only young piece on D that can actually play top 4D against the best players. We are leaning hard on Guhle as well.... on the defensive side. The kid is very physical and is always putting his body on the line.

If Nick Suzuki is injured, Habs are f***ed anyway. That's why they should hunt for another 1C. Drop Dach to 3C and use Beck in 4th.

Disagree. The only other play I remember is he and Laine forechecking 2v1 and both gliding from the dots staring at each other like “you go”. Also no-one gets smacked like that on purpose, he’s not making a zone exit there taking a hit to get a 4v4 the other way (or to free a guy in the slot). He’s just a marshmellow.

Max Lapierre challenged us a while back to look for guys giving strides up to the puck to see who’s actually engaged, so it really stood out for me.

oops sry Guhle thread, I got crossed.

I'm not sure about having a D on their weak side on all 3 pairings. Maybe bump Arber up to play with Carrier. They could also call up someone like Mailloux.

Yeah, I'd probably go:

Hutson-Matheson
Xhekaj-Carrier
Struble-Savard

Xhekaj brings size & physicality but Guhle's speed really helped him track players down. X doesn't have that.
