I'd also like to see Barron with Struble instead of Guhle. Let Struble cover for Barron's defensive weaknesses and up the RHD's value for a trade in the process.

Free Guhle from Barron and lethimplay with Kovacevic until Reinbacher comes up.

On this roster, I'd like to see Barron with Struble. He's our most stable guy defensively.
Hes just more stable because he faces bottom lines. Its crazy how you guys underrate our 21 YO 1D whos been tasked with shutting down the top lines for a year now.

I see a promising player who has to get stronger. He looks flimsy and frail. He and Struble are both around 205 and one is so much stronger.
Struble is older and a full 3 inches smaller than Guhle, of course he's stronger at the same weight. Hell get there, hes very thin right now. Slaf is the same size and has 20 pounds on him.

Guhle's game will excel he gets stronger. He's still a little weak on his feet and gets pushed around a little bit.

I thought he had more offense in him. I'm not sure if he's just playing a more defensive minded game or if his offensive talents won't translate.

I'd like to see him get a shot on the PP to show us what he's got offensively, but yes I agree he's been underwhelming offensively.

outside of his limited PP usage, i can't imagine he looks to his right, sees Barron covering for him and says yup, time to pinch. if he's ever partnered with an defensively adequate dman, i'm sure we'll see his 5 on 5 numbers go up.

Guhle is at 79 career NHL games and has 7 goals and 28 points on 2 bad offensive teams

If anything his offense has more than seeped through while he's still getting his bearings set at the NHL level

It'll only get better too

Bit ill agree with others, he's gotta get a bit stronger, and also will, he's basically a child when it comes to NHL D and ages lol

Not a single concern with Guhle, not 1

He does; I know I’m guilty of thinking he’d grow to Captain Mountain size/strength within a year… He’s solid as heck for his age at defending and I hope he gets bigger/stronger.

I've wondered if Guhle has problems keeping his weight up over the course of a season. Fatigue seems to play a major factor in his overall game.

He's first on the team in 5V5 points and he's also first on the team in 5v5 primary points. He doesn't play the PP, thats it. He has as many ESP as Serge and Pietrangelo.

28 points in 78 career games is outstanding.

Guhle - Reinbacher should allow Guhle to have more offensive freedom.

Remember when Hutson was paired with Reinbacher at training camp, though?

It wasn't smooch a case Reinbacher insulating Hutson as its was a case of Hutson setting up Reinbacher offensively! Reinbacher missed on those opportunities, though.

Completely agree, he's not big and strong enough. He gets tossed out of plays too easily. That have been one of disappointments this year. He was known to be a strong boy and it seems like the next step where he is surrounded by bigger guys in the big league has been showing. He also hits far less and I wonder if it's because he's afraid to get injured. If you want to be a big two D, you have to have a punishing factor cause they are gonna throw the big lines at you. He needs to eat his potatoes.

He needs to go to the gym with Struble 😅

He seems to be having a bit of a rough patch of late. He's very young but he should not be making the same mistakes over and over again.

Agree with all of this.

KG has shown why he's going to be a top pairing Dman for the next decade plus. Incredible skater, sharp breakout passes, positioning, etc...

In terms of strength, there's not many 21 year old defensemen that completely control the boards and front of the net from the get go. KG has a slim body type, he doesn't have that thick base/wide shoulders like some others so it will take him more time to fill in and get that man strength, but he will. Pair that up with his hockey IQ and body positioning and we'll reap the rewards for a long time. He'll ride shotgun with Nick in terms of team leadership for a long time. Love this kid.

curious to know what mistakes you're seeing being made over and over again
Have you not noticed? go look at the last few games where he has played some of the one on ones terribly. Not the end of the world however, he's young and still raw-ish. Even Norris trophy winners have had moments like that. Not every player plays an A game all the time and will get called out on that. To simply put any player on a pedestal and disregard flaws is a flaw. Praise when good, criticize when bad.
Of course you will always find in abundance a plethora of individuals that rag on a player unjustifiably and relentlessly and blow smoke up others.
You can read commentary to this in the PGT's.
