The Sun: Kadri Not Impressed By Jersey Tossing Fan

Absolutely, and not just to my ego. All of the fans. Granted, some have rose colored glasses on or are still star struck, I have long passed that point in my life when I think these people are some sort of heroes. They are very rich trained monkeys that are there for only one purpose and their opinions are hugely overrated. He should **** and be grateful for us idiots wasting money on being fans. Because it means something to us, and some nights it looks like it means only $$$$ to them.

Not that I would toss a jersey over the boards, but again, I haven't bought a jersey in 12 years.

You go ahead and keep drinking the coolaid, bro.

Says the guy who believes his own delusions about hockey players being trained monkeys.

No fan ever has the right to throw something on the ice outside of game events like a hat trick. You can be disgusted with the product you've been given. You can choose to either not attend, or leave, but under no circumstance should jerseys be thrown on the ice. All IMO of course.

You are a guest. A paying guest, but a guest none the less. You act accordingly.

What this guy did was highly disrespectful and shouldn't be encouraged (the reaction of the people around him is more disappointing than the jersey throwing itself) or come with an expectation that the players should just accept it and not comment.

We don't need fans like that Naz? How about we don't need players who refuse to take responsibility for their part in a lousy effort! That inflated and undeserved paycheque you cash every week is paid by guys like that fan you don't need and the guys high fiving him. The adult response would be to step into that man's shoes and try to understand why, then perhaps reflect on what part you may have played in that to prevent it from happening again. At the minimum you could keep your opinions to yourself and not comment on it. You wonder why people hate you Nazem? It's crap like this you entitled, overskilled under effort brat. You are indeed a one man muskoka five.

If you don't want to waste money then don't. No one is telling you to spend money only to be disappointed when the going gets rough. You guys complaining that Kadri is wrong because the teams effort is a waste of money sound like a drug addict who blame the dealer that the sense of euphoria is gone and now their health is deteriorating. Don't like it don't pay, don't blame the players for wasting your money if they don't meet your expectations.

By the way the answer given is pretty much on par with other responses to fans throwing their jerseys on the ice

Whoever threw that jersey on the ice, is out. They’ve given up. They’re a quitter. We don’t want that here.

People can be fans and voice their support or displeasure in different forms, agree or not. Calling out fans for whatever reason, unless they are being racists or overstep the boundaries of abuse or violent behavior is gutless. I used to go to ACC and we painted our faces and hair in blue and white. We had a team that constantly made the playoffs, showed effort, had a true identity. The effort shown to the fans, the respect to the fan dollar is not there right now. I think throwing anything on the ice is very unsafe - waffles or apparel, but I understand. If fans want to put bags over their heads or chant "fire Wilson, "fire Carlyle" I understand.

Don't go anymore you say? I don't. Haven't bought a ticket in a long time. Just watching at home. I rather go waste my money on something else.

I'd be surprised if the idiot was even much of a fan.
They just want to be the one when someone says "did you see the shirt get thrown on the ice?" to be able to say "that was me".

No different than the moron jumping on the field at a Jays game.

What I find funny, is that if Percy didn't tip the puck past Bernier in the opener and the game ended up in OT and the Leafs got at least point out of it, we probably don't see that jersey tossed on the ice.

Not probably.

Kadri played his best game in a year so maybe it woke him up.

Thank you random disgruntled fan for your service. You are not the hero we want but rather the hero we deserve.

Some Leaf fans are bipolar.

I remember in the 1989 playoffs against Detroit in the first round, we got hammered 8-1 at home in game 4, and fans started throwing jerseys, beer, hats, and garbage on the ice.

The Leafs then went into Detroit and won game 5 in OT. Ed Olczyk said post game that he hoped that the fans would throw roses at them next game, and they did, LOL.

 that would have been awesome to see

Kadri should shut up, of course. He is only a legend in his own mind.

But fans who want to show their displeasure with the Leafs need to stop buying jerseys in the first place and stop going to games.

Otherwise it is business as usual.

He was asked a question and as always gave a truthful answer.....he speaks from his heart. His responses to all questions are not the stock BS you get from hockey players.

His response to this questions was not preconceived, it was honest and forthright. I happen to agree with him.....the teams jersey is their flag.....it should never hit the ground. He is speaking as a hockey player and as such understands that at no time do you disrespect the Jersey....he has been taught that since about Atom hockey is my guess.

Now anyone who calls themselves a fan of any hockey team should know that the Jersey is the one item that never should be disrespected. The individuals who are calling Naz names need to get a better understanding of the game and the significances of the teams Jersey.

If anything Naz's response has made me believe that his leadership skills are far more advance then I had thought....he cares.

Once again Diceman has the best responses in a Kadri thread. You guys should learn more about the value of the Jersey. But nope its impossible because Nazem " I am the worst thing to ever happen to the Leafs" Kadri said this.
What if we got Brayden " fake tough guy" Schenn and he said this
Probably no one would have a problem with it:(
I dont care if this team has stunk for half a century, you dont disrespect a jersey, that is what the players wear when they play. Now if they showed up naked thats a different story, but the jersey is what represents the team. If you throw it, than I agree we dont need you here like the arrogant Kadri said.
Kid loses every where and anreading comments on here you would think he was best friends with Rob Ford or something.

Kadri did everything right here and if you disagree well thats because Kadri has proven you people wrong and become a very good player and yes even better than Matt Frattin Jughead!

Great response again. However if Kadri were to become captain, this board will be unbearable.

So, I wonder what happened to this particular jersey? Hopefully the Leafs have it and can throw it back after they win a few games. :sarcasm:

Yes, this board would go nuts....but he is more of a leader then our current one!

Here is what Pascal Dupuis said.....

The Penguins did not miss the fan's statement Saturday.

"That's always really bad when you see that," said winger Pascal Dupuis. "You don't want any jerseys on the ice, any team. That's no class, no respect, obviously."

Why are some on here not getting it....

I was wondering this myself. Maybe more of an attention *****.

Great post! I agree. This kid takes way too much abuse from some fans around here. What I've seen from him is a consistent threat offensively and an added effort and commitment to back check. I saw him against St Louis breaking up a play and creating another rush offensively. He's been steady at it in both ends this season.

I also love a more genuine answer. His response reminds of the rumoured response Hal Gill gave PK when he threw his jersey on the floor on the locker room. It's a show of disrespect. Just boo if your that unhappy.
