The Sun: Kadri Not Impressed By Jersey Tossing Fan

It seems Kadri isn't impressed with the fan who threw his jersey onto the ice during the Pittsburgh game.

Don't like it? Play to your potential or shut up. These are ultimately the people who pay your salary. They have every right to display their displeasure with sub par performances.

Kadri can go **** himself! that lazy ***** is steeling money, I can understand a comment like this coming from Jonatin Toews or Sidney Crosby men who lead winning organizations and players that have many accomplishments but Kadri so far is a glorified second or third line centre that has done nothing for his team. A team that has choked the last three years, he's got a lot of nerve.

IMHO Kadri was right. How is Kadri stealing* money anyway? didn't realize he was going into the pockets of the fans and snatching their wallets. If the fan was so fed up, like you seem to be, don't watch and don't pay for tickets. Your like a drug addict blaming the dealer for your deteriorating health.

yeah young centre who hasn't hit his prime yet, you go out there and play to your #1 centre potential OR ELSE YOU HAVE NO RIGHT TO DO ANYTHING!

get a grip pal

Does anyone else recall Kadri calling the fans peasants accompanied by a pic of him on his private jet via twitter in the off season?

That sparked a bit of a ****storm.

That was Evander Kane wasn't it?

Anyways, to the people telling Kadri to shut up and play better... he's been one of the best players on the team. It's not like he isn't pulling his weight

I hate people who disrespect the jersey.

The jersey and the 'Maple Leaf' that adorns it is a matter of pride. It is what represents us as fans of the team and its history.

By tossing it, you are disrespecting everyone that has ever worn the jersey in my opinion.

Take your frustration out by not coming to the game, hurling 'boos' in the team's direction, or just voicing criticism through media outlets. Just keep the jersey out of it.

I'm probably weird, but I think as a Leafs fan the jersey is very important and should not be disrespected like that.

I'm mostly the same way. Mine's always hanging up and I'm very careful with it when I wear it.

Tossed it after Game 7. Sat on the floor for a week.

That was a couple years ago:

The Kadri thing was back in May. He quickly deleted his tweet after a huge outburst from Leafs nation implying he didn't care that the Leafs hadn't made the playoffs because he was more concerned about being a "balla".

Who said anything about potential number one centre status. Kadri hasn't proved that he has the chops as a bona fide number 2 yet.

He is also prone to lazy shifts and lack of concentration. All I'm saying is that of Kadri feels he had nothing more to give on the ice then he has the right to feel the way he does because he has given all he has.

If he knows that he was dogging it a bit and didn't play 100% then the fan has the right tonfeel what he did.

It's about effort more than results. If the players work hard and lose that sucks but if they are obviously not giving 100% then the fans have the right to make their displeasure known.

So much bad grammar... ugh, I'll take a stab.

The guy had a solid first full year during the lockout shortened season, had what would have been ideally his sophomore slump and still put up 50 points, and has looked pretty solid so far this season.

If you look at the difference in players you just compared, it's obvious Jonathan Toews and Sidney Crosby have a better support group on their team. You can't compare two of the best players in the league to a 2nd line centre.

Whoa there grammar police. I think what he means is if it were a player who has won something and proven their hard work, then it would be an acceptable thing to say. Kadri cannot even consistently work hard, regardless of the comparison.

The fact is he, in theory, works for the fans. The tickets, advertisements and merchandise pay all of their salaries, so if we as fans are displeased, we have the freedom to show our disgust.

Great speech, Nazim.

Is your dad finally going to wear the beloved Leafs jersey at this years father-son road trip?

Going on 3 years, and Sam Kadri is the only father invited who doesn't put on his son's Leafs jersey.

That offends me more than a yahoo throwing his jersey on the ice. At least he paid for the jersey and the ticket. Sam Kadri is there on MLSE's dime.

Fans have a right to show their displeasure any way they want, short of throwing feces on the ice. If Kadri or any Leaf has a problem with that they should look at themselves and play better, and not call out the fans. He don't need fans like that? Well maybe I don't want a team like that?
There's 29 other teams and a plethora of non NHL teams to choose from.... I for one agree with Kadri.

Its frustrating watching your team play as underacheivers for the most part, and this didn't start these past two weeks.....I understand the frustration but it can also facilitate a change in attitude and direction.

He paid to be there and he was just expessing how many fans felt. You want fans to respect your Jersey? Then play like you respect your jersey.

Maybe the fans are not impressed with the team.

Don't need fans like that... We don't need a garbage hockey team neither.

I'm not saying I agree with the jersey being thrown on the ice, but don't complain when the team is not competing!
