Good 5v5 defensive players do not always make good PK guys. The concepts are quite different. Sometimes worse 5v5 defensive guys do better due to different reads, speed etc…

I saw someone mention Peter Bondra as an example, but there are quite a few. Terrific on PK. Lousy 5v5 defensively.
True bit of you don’t give the kid a shot you’ll never know. He’s a good positional player so I think he might be pretty good at it.

I’d bet a kidney that Kaako’s first game against the Rangers he scores. And I wouldn’t begrudge him doing a celly right in front of our bench.
Regardless of what my username is, i'll be rooting for him when he plays us to score 3 and celebrate however he wants. Trading cost effective young highly drafted players while tanking would be something.

Kakko has never endeared himself to the core, evidenced by the fact they were all vocal about not wanting him on their line, and I think that alone has repercussions on his self-esteem and on-ice responsibility. Laf and most other kids, on the other hand, have endeared themselves to the core.
