This is what we need. If accountability in the room is a problem, then guys need to stand up for themselves publicly.

Now Laf should mention how he'd really like to try out some PP time with the big boys, and Cuylle should say he's good at knocking pucks in around the net when it comes time that we really need a goal. Maybe Chytil thinks his line can match up against some stronger opposition.

I understand but his (older) teammates caught the stray.

With that said how many coaches has KK had?

How many have benched him?

The benching is not a death sentence. All it is saying is we need you to play better. Don't we all want KK to play better? CK was benched. JT Miller was benched. Zooks was benched. Lafi was benched. They took it like men and came back to improve their games.
Agree. but Kakko is not blind either; he sees what is happening on the ice. It should have been one of the bromance brothers in the press box. Kakko is never going to carry the day with his ice time. Who Lavi put on the ice in the final minutes against the Blues was telling and another blunder IMHO.

My respect for Kakko grew a lot today. I really dont think he has ever wanted anything but to help this team.

y'all are not gonna make headway with Fotiu. there's a circularity to the logic based in the appeal to (coach's) authority.

he operates under the assumption that if Kakko played better, the coach wouldn't scratch him - would play him. There is, however, no objective measurement of Kakko's game quality except the coach's opinion as expressed in scratching or TOI.

so he says "only Kakko can improve Kakko's game," but the reality is he cannot control what opportunity he's given.

To many of our view, he has played well enough to earn the time he's been given and the salary he's paid. To others he's been useless and bad.

Outside of GF/GA, KK's 5v5 stats look very similar to Smith's through the 29 games they've both played, and absolutely no-one has any issues with scratching Smith for a game or two. Kakko had his nice little hot-streak, which coincided nicely with Cuylle's awesome SH%, and then he basically went back to being Kakko.
With Berard up and playing well we have too many wingers, and a guy like KK, who really doesn't stand out in any way, will get scratched from time to time

“But still, not too many goals against,” Kakko continued, referring to the team’s numbers with him on the ice. “It’s got to be better. Everyone’s got to be better. … There have still got to be more goals, but we’re also not playing the most. The third line is playing 10-12 minutes.”

Kakko line numbering again. No wonder he gets scratched

Also, KK has played only 9 mins less than Zib 5v5 in 1 less game, and 45 mins more than CK in 2 more games.
Other than Smith, who has played 1.5 mins more, who does he think he should be getting more ice time from?

I think its a dig at the BFFs. I'm not sure he's wrong either
He's not really wrong, but we literally have no center depth so scratching Mika is harder (should still be done), and he's played more than CK. So yeah, he got scratched before CK did but so has every other middling performing winger (I guess you could argue Edstrom if you really wanted to)

Kakko wants to be 1C. He got a taste of center and now is coming for Mika's lifeless corpse

This thread is wild.

in 24hrs ive seen a ebb and flow of Bering Straight Crabbian epicness.

We hate the players. Love Managment.

We love the players. Hate Management.

Kakko is the truth. Kakko has no merit.

Kids are the future. Kids havent supplanted vets.

Larry says team is toxic, Rupp says team has been wronged.

Can some of ya'll pick a narrative and sick with it?

Im on break at 2pm and we wanna burn it to thw ground, i finnish up at 4:30 and 3m of Mike Rupp (ex player, union bro) talking convinces everyone here that Drury is a mindbending psychopath and the players are Choir Boys who are the Resistance in the trenches.

Nothing has changed. A bunch of whiny brats who have chased out 3 coaches in 5 years. 2 Vets who learned to be that way from a country club coke and pills room while they were young run by AV (Hayes, Vesey, Skjei, and Miller getting shit canned and Lenner whistleblowing as evidence).

This team has kicked the can a few times. Thats about all Drury is guilty of. The Butch/Igor accident wasnt inncocent either. Hence Butches outing and shitty return. Something got swept under the rug there.

Im no fan of Drury. He did us rotten as a player. But this club has been rotten for years. Success covered the stench.

Its a shame. We'll probably lose KK. Hopefully Lafreniere is of strong enough character to get past all this. Honestly, Trouba, albeit a "bro" was probabaly undermined as Captain by Kreider and Ziba who had seniority.

The smart money is on cleaning house.

Build out the D to protect Shesty who we commited to, let Laf, Chytil, Cyulle, Berard form the forward corp, fill in the blanks in the F12, get a center in the top 10 this draft. Hell, grab a few in the top 100 and see what shakes out.

This room needs a culture shock just like Jagr did post lockout and the team was junked, and those guys mentored Dubi, Cally, Anisimov, Staal, and Girardi to be the leaders when Torts took over and Renny was shown the door.

If I'm Chris Dreary, Im in Kakko's ear telling him we've got no intention of trading you, and this mean coach is siding with the vets over you and your boys Laffy, Chytil and Cuylle. Fight the quitting vets that way by motivating your young core.

Any thought of trading away young talent -irregardless of whether they were "over drafted" or not while at the same time over playing the carcass and fossil posse we've assembled is pure professional recklessness.

And I fully expect it to happen.
