If he is out for a while, the chances of a Panarin-Zib-Kreider line diminishes. I don't think Gallant will risk it. But, Strome centering Laf and Gauthier intrigues me

What is the longterm gig for this player..3rd line ?? He clearly will not be a star, and on pace for 10 goals in a 70 game season is bad. He was supposed to be a star

Some observant people (hattip pawneeranger) pointed out he looked injured (but got shot down as per HF law). He looked in pain against Toronto. I noticed a few games ago he swapped out his Sherwood gloves for beefier Bauer gloves, and he's been refusing to shoot even more than usual preferring to pass or go for deflections.

He's 20. I definitely think he's a top 6 RW and not a third liner.

Watching Jack Hughes with three horrendous giveaways in the first 8 minutes of the Kings game, all leading to scoring chances with one goal. Then he just got hammered into the boards. Slow the roll on this guy. He will score but he will hurt the Devils nightly with his careless play and unless he smartens up, he will spend alot of time on IR. Kakko will be the better player, is the better all around player now.

He shouldn't have been playing if he was hurt. Players like MacKinnon, McDavid, Draisaitl, sure. But Kakko has enough problems making an impact when he's 100%, he's obviously going to be a detriment playing hurt right now.

Watching that pass he just made to Bratt for the PP goal. Yeah wish Kakko was able to do stuff like that. I feel we are reaching with excuses for Kakko, now he was injured ? Why is he even playing then? People also blamed Panarin and Strome, and then Mika and Kreider for not passing the puck to him or said he didn’t have chemistry with them. I mean yeah. It’s getting old now.

Great pass; he's talented. But I'm not sure he's a net positive for the Devils right now.

Hughes just coughed up the puck at the offensive blue line again, the Kings went up the ice and scored. Gallant would sit him.

Don't wish for more mistakes. Hughes just handed the Kings the tying goal. The idea is to win not create highlights.
Now Hughes added an assist and is still at a point per game.

If you add what Kaapo Kakko & Alexis Lafreniere are on pace for COMBINED, screw it, take their combined pace and add Kakko's last season point totals to it as well. That number... Hughes is still on pace for 12 more points than that.

Both Quinn and Gallant would have stapled Hughes to the bench for his sloppy play and turnovers. In NJ Hughes gets to cruise around and cherry pick and be as sloppy as he wants all game - it's totally different situations.

Kk is a bust. Face it. He has been playing too 6 all Eason and is having a .38 ppg. That is 3rd line stars but he is not playing 3rd line. He is bad

If kk ends up being Jan Erixon for us im ok with it.
He was one of my favs.
U all put way too much weight into draft position.
I wanted to trade down for a C like Zegras but most of u who put kk down are "gotta draft bpa" guys...
So u got ur bpa guy now live with it
Same goes for laf who i also would have traded down for a C
