Watch Rags waste Shestys career like they did
No sympathy for Igor. Just like his crosstown comrade sirchokin, they greedily took the money and term vs winning.
I know why the Canes likely weren't in on this. If the Rangers were going to make a grave mistake, they weren't going to make it inside the division.
Cane's don't need him

Borgen isn't that bad but this still pretty much seems like a slam dunk considering Seattle's current roster and where they're at as a team trading a bottom pair UFA D for at minimum a 23yo 3rd liner seems great. Maybe he also gets some PP time and gets put with some skill players more consistently and finds some chemistry too.

I don't get people calling this a terrible return.

This is completely in line with what players like this go for at this point in their development/contract status. Anybody expecting more than a late 2nd or a 3rd wasn't living in reality.

He is arbitration eligible, which was likely a key factor in limiting his market. Teams aren't going to want to give up major assets, have him do fine but not great, and then have to decide whether to risk qualifying him where he could get a high arbitration ruling that is above his actual market value but below the 4.74M walk away number.

Watch Kakko turn into a perennial Selke candidate in Seattle
I'm a big fan of Kakko and the potential of him turning into a real effective middle six player, but I have a really hard time seeing where he falls into their roster now and long-term. They've been a revolving door for 'mid' forwards their entire existence.

Has their every been a draft class that got off to such a hot start, to mostly just sizzle out? At one point 2019 looked like one of the deepest drafts ever. Now Hughes, Boldy, and Caufield are the only ones still playing like stars?

Borgen should be worth at least a 2nd, should be a long term fit with the Rangers. As a Sabres fan I wish our GM could trade for quality players like this.

Rangers are a mess lmao. It’s actually bad because I need my pathetic isles to take some heat to make changes and the Rangers are hogging the headlines with all their dysfunction.

Great job, Drury. Another bang-up job you did.

Like I said, Chris Drury is the worst GM in the NHL.

Holy f***

Forget everything I said in previous threads about player values. Drury is a f***ing disgrace and literally giving everything away for scraps.

I thought he would learn from the Buch trade but I guess not. f*** this guy.

Kakko wasn't going to get a big return.

Don't underestimate Dolan. This is the guy who stuck with Glen Sather for years despite no success in the biggest market in the US.

What amazes me is that Chris Drury was one of the worst FA signing in the history of the New York Rangers and stole, yes stole, millions of dollars from Dolan and now, he runs the f***ing team.

Incredible. IN. CREDIBLE.

This is what you get for leading the team in +/- at only $2.1M a year while Mika and CK suck shit at -500 for 8 million cap hits.

How dare he challenge the Culture of the NYR where one truth remains eternal: old, past their prime vets shall be signed to exorbitant contracts for bowing out in the first round and setting up nice retirements.

As an NYR fan,

f*** THIS TEAM
f*** DRURY
f*** LAVI
AND MOST OF ALL

f*** JAMES DOLAN TO HELL
