When I was screaming in excitement during the draft lottery, my wife said well who are they taking. Told her most likely we are taking Kakko and I can’t wait. Then the fun started with her trying to pronounce his name. Long story short we had tacos that night for dinner and she now calls him....Taco Nacho. Obviously it is has no meaning for him but thought it was pretty funny because casual fans are going to struggle with saying his name.

Nacho Grande
Grande Kakko?

That's just not true, Johnny. You may mean titles. "The Great One", "The Next One", "The Kid", "his Airness".

I'm sure Gretzky was Gretz long before he was dubbed "The Great One". Nicknames are given, titles are earned.
Yeah, but every typical hockey nickname is just a play on the name with shortening it. If he gets an actual nickname, it will have to be earned. Let's not pre-ordain anything.

Then he clearly deserves the title of "The Promised one"! It should be sanctioned by his church as well.

I love the idea of other players in the locker room calling him "Great One" between periods.

I just see it as being something like KK or K.

Giradi was G. Staal is Staalsy. Nash was Nasher. Kreider is Kreids. This is not a creative locker room.
