Heck yeah!!!!!!!!!!

I watched the show last night being f*** all drunk and had to restrain myself from posting despite the joy of the draft going exactly as I had hoped for as far as Kakko was concerned (the latest comments from Shero had ignited some fear of what was about to happen). Have either passed out before the beginning of the show or just missed out most of these event in the recent years, but I felt this one was too precious to be left out and not watched first hand!

You definitely landed the BPA of the entire draft year as far as I was concerned and within a few years we'll see the validity in that assessment.
Kakko played all positions last years and excelled, so that's just another aspect to evaluate/explore further and most of all be excited about. Perhaps he will end up as a center when all things are said and done.

Guess I was hoping to see one more year of rebuilt but if the organization managed (or will manage) to do that in such a short time span added with this draft pick, who cares really.

Just to keep things short, congratz NYR and congratz Kaapo "El" Kakko (as me and my friend used to joke)!! I'll without a doubt keep a close tag on for the Rangers next year and the years that will follow. Feel free to mark 21.6.2019 as the beginning of a new era for the franchise, just book it!

They had puck controll as his strenght, but strenght as a weakness.
But we all know he doesn't really have a major weakness you can blame him on.

Hughes brother still looks small few years post draft, he's never going to physically dominate this league, and Kakko could be the toughest guy to play against in this league one day.

Also I believe Spencer Knight had no weaknessess on his SN? analysis.

quinn hughes was drafted last year...so only 1 year post draft

Really? Out of all the things? Yeah Kakko's dad looks like a unit, physicly I don't think Hughes is ever gonna come close to Kakko. On elite prospect their weight difference is 9 kilos (20 pounds). That 9 kilos isn't the reason why Kakko is so much ahead physicly, although it helps. Hughes is gonna grow into his frame but his frame just isn't as good as Kakko's when you look at their body types not to mention his frame is about 4 inches shorter.
It was room for improvement, and if you look at his picture playing golf you would see that he can get a little more muscle in him.

Kind of a 'duh Larry' piece.

Of course this is going to take time. But holy f*** when this team comes together it's going to be beautiful.

it really isn't though...it should be a 'duh' piece but lets be real here there is a big part of the fan base that is going to expect him to be a PPG player next year and take us to the playoffs. not everyone follows prospects, they just see other teams top players being mega stars without realizing for many it didn't happen in year 1

it can be very easy to get caught up in how good you think the team will be in 2-3 years and forget that its not 2-3 years from now yet.

You're 100%.

Well, we may as well soak in this summer because this place is going to get reeeeeal impatient reeeeeeal fast.

i.e. There are posters here who treat Lias the way Pierre treated Lias at draft day. People have closed the book on a 20yr old.

It's the Rangers fan in me that I was disappointed Hughes didn't fall to us.

But then I realized Kakko doesn't have to be better than Hughes. Personally don't care about how they compare. Kakko is an exciting player. Here's to hoping he doesn't catch that Rangers disease of overpassing. Love his attitude and his compete, think he'll be a 30 goal scorer next season if he's flanking Zjbanejad.

OMG, just got a flash of our PP1 with those two on their off wings...

What a great time to be a Rangers fan!!

Agree 100%. In three to five years if all goes how we would like it to he will be unstoppable.

In the meantime we have to remember he is 18 and most likely has a few years until he turns into what we are all envisioning.

I'll definitely watch a good bunch of Rangers games next season. I think a lot of Finnish fans will hop on the Rangers train with Kakko being there.

Can't wait for Kakko to develop a New York accent by the way. That would be something.
You betcha! I have also arrived. We Finns are like magnets. You pick one of our best and we'll be there. Call it bandwagon or whatever, Rangers just got a new fan. :P
