Think it is more that baseball is the least popular of the big US sports in most of Europe. Here in Norway we atleast get some NBA highlights on the sporting news sometimes, and the Superbowl is starting to be something popular to watch. Personaly I know who Kobe and Brady is, but I do not know a single MLB player.
I get that.

I was speaking more to the second part about how the shirt fits.

There are plenty of people in Finland who watch a lot of NBA and NFL (not only the Super Bowl). MLB, not that much.. I've been to many MLB games and whenever a fellow Finn has been there to attend one for the first time, they've always had the same comment: "Well, that was boring as hell, we don't have to do that again." Last November we went to our first NFL game with three friends of mine, and after the game everyone was saying "we definitely have do this again".
I wonder if those younger people who follow pesäpallo (our domestic baseball like game) follow american baseball...

Sure there are some unfit and overweight baseball players but there's tons of fit ones. Google Eric Thames, that dude is jacked. Judge, Stanton, Betts, Springer all super ripped. The most impressive one may be Michael Lorenzen from the Reds.

Kakko is 6'2 190lbs.

I wouldn't be surprised if Kakko hits about 6'3/6'4and 220-230lbs

And if your wondering who that compares too.. Ovi is 6'3 and 236lbs.. was 6'2 215lbs on draft day.

Being a personal trainer I see a lot of different people and body types. Ovi and Kakko have very similar body builds and his Father is big aswell as is his Mother.

The Rangers have a freak of nature on their hands. And on top of that he is very skilled.

The future is very bright for this young man. :)

Looking at where he is now and looking at his dad I'd say you're pretty much on the money where he'll be in 3/4/5 years. He's going to be a load. He's also stronger than he looks which is saying something. He manhandles older guys his own size. That empty net goal against Canada in the World Championships--he just knocked Shea Theodore right out of the way. That's a real deal NHL defenseman--that's impressive.

He's going to be a different kind of player than Hughes. We'll see who turns out better.

Want to see a psychopath? Look at Kaliyev. My god, I was terrified when I saw him on Saturday. The kid gave me chills

Kaliyev was clearly not happy on Friday. His face scrunched up so much it looked almost like a fist. On talent he could have been a 1st but he wasn't the only one who dropped to the 2nd round--Brink, Hoglander, Lavoie, Robertson just to name a few others. But really Kaliyev was never a particular target for me--he's really really good at the one thing and that's putting pucks in the net but he's never really struck me as interested in the other aspects of the game.....and sometimes those kinds of players don't work out that well. He's not really that tough a player either so pissed off as he appeared to be he should just lighten up IMO. One could almost project that his interviews weren't very good. He could turn out to be a really good player though. The main thing is to get picked. Speaking of that I watched Dustin Wolf get picked almost right at the end and he didn't look very happy either but in his case he was probably sick with worry at that point. There's a lot of players who sit those hours waiting for their names to be called and go away disappointed. That's f***ing tough. Kaliyev should count his blessings.

I've found that baseball and soccer offer a hell of a cultural exchange between myself and friends in South America and Europe.

They come here, I take them to a baseball game, and they want to gauge their eyes out.

I go there, they take me to a soccer game, and I want to gauge my eyes out.

We compromise and go to a concert and everyone comes away happy.

Really? You must be going to the wrong games.

You want to exchange culture? Go to some of the big rivalry games in Europe and you'll fear for your life.

Oh don't get me wrong, the people watching is fun.

But I've tried for more than 30 years to get into soccer. It does nothing for me.

Not wrong games. Soccer has to be the most boring sport in the world, after formula 1. If the field was shrunk to 1/4 its current size perhaps something would happen. As is... You spend 90% of the time waiting for something to happen. And it probably won't anyway.

Not sure how many of you listen to NHL Talk on Sirius XM, Channel 91. Stellick and Simmer had Jeff Marek on this morning to talk about the draft. Marek said a few things that I found extremely interesting. He started by agreeing with the consensus that Hughes was #1 on a majority of teams lists, but a few definitely had Kakko at 1. He then went on to say that he believed that had the Rangers had the 1st overall pick, they would have taken Kakko. The MOST interesting thing however, was that one team in particular (not the Rangers) had Hughes ranked third behind Kakko and Dach over concerns about Hughes size and if his game transitions well to the NHL.

Formula 1 can be extremely entertaining. It’s not just about the race and the drivers. There’s a tremendous amount of strategy that goes into things like tyre selection, pit-stop timing, equipment management, etc.

Similarly, soccer is about the process, not just putting up points. It’s about setting up the attack, controlling possession, creativity and ultimately, yes, execution. But it’s hard to think of a more elegant team game.

Didn't those "'D' + fence" signs crack you up? American creativity.

I have a feeling his intermission interviews with Trautwig is gonna be the most awkward thing I have ever seen, can't wait lol

"Have you had your first NYC water dog yet?"
"How does it compare to Finnish food?"

What cracks me up about that, is that Americans will take any opportunity to explain how much they despise the British, yet they walk around with a sign that uses the British spelling of the word

That was exactly my thought! :)
