Then you shoot for a rebound....dont be a dumbass and take the puck from the front to the back of the net. He needs to shoot the puck otherwise he will continue to struggle with points.
Or take the puck behind the net knowing you have Panarin close by, then set him up for a tap in.

If Kakko and Laf are going to ever live up to their draft positions, and the potential that seemingly went along with said positions, they need to obsessively work on their skating, both in season and off season. Laf it might be conditioning and strength as well, Kakko not so much. But they are both below average NHL skaters, and that is clearly affecting their ability to excel at this level, and use the toolbox of skills they both possess.

This kid came in this year w some decent energy and looked like he might be ready to take a step but now he's played what 10 games without a point and you can see him just shriveling up. He's has 40pts in 124 games. That's a pace of 26pts for 82game season. People can say all the positives things and tough luck things they want but this is no longer a small sample size and at some point he needs to produce... something...

Thought he played better as the game went on, but at times looked lost on that line again.

f*** the bread hat trick bury it from center ice Kap you need it more!

I'm actually rooting for a 0 point season out of Kakko this year. It's something different that no other player is able to bring to the team.

I mean, if he signed for like 5x2M because of it and then puts up his breakout season next year… blessing, right?

At this point, his agent might tell him to take a 5-6 year 'security' contract

5-6 years $2-3ish M. Secure your family in the event things go bust

If he literally has a zero point season he'll be signing a contract with MSG as the cotton-candy guy

He could have a pretty big impact. Cotton candy is all simple sugar - if he’s getting it to the boys with proper timing during each intermission, that’s a lot of fast digesting carbs for #enhancedperformance

Thought he was decent tonight, almost made a nice play to Strome backdoor, had a decent shift in the 3rd when he won some battles and got the puck across ice to the D.

Strome doesn’t entertain back door plays. He’s too much of a dude bro. He was quoted as saying “miss me with that ish”. Unconfirmed, but still.

Would still love to revisit hfboard free agent thread how the Goodrow deal was an embarrassment while a guy like Joel Armia is worth every penny on his new deal.

I didn't realize it before, but Kakko won the draw in the defensive zone that started the counter attack for the 3-2 goal. Strome continues to have atrocious draw stats.

That can be said for many nhl players, work on there game. Fact is both won't be anything like the draft hype..told this board this last year!!!!

Well, he had his nightly decent chance not go in.

It's becoming legit funny at this point so there's that.
Also the couple of good plays that lead to goals, but dont give him an assist.

It's pretty hilarious how he manages to avoid any credit. Didnt even get a + for the first because he made a change after getting the puck to strome

He hasn't played one single game in AHL. Just put him there for one season to get his sh*t together. I think he still has what it takes to be a good NHL-player but it will take many years.
