I'm still concerned, more so now that we are losing Kravtsov, that Kakko's offense just isn't blossoming the way we need it to. Maybe he will take the Puljujarvi path or something. But having Krav gave us a security blanket for Laf and Kakko. Without him, we really need Kakko not to stagnate offensively.

I love what he's done with the rest of his game and how its developed. Seriously, he's made such huge strides in non offensive, or at least non point producing areas. But we seriously need him to start producing points. I thought there was a good chance Kravtsov eventually ended up a better offensive player than Kakko. Which would have worked out just fine for us. Well, I still feel like Krav, wherever he goes, might still turn out a better offensive player than Kakko, but it now obviously doesn't help us one bit.

Kakko has looked great, really. Except when it comes to actually being offensively creative and producing goals or manufacturing them directly. Perhaps what makes it worse, is I have the same concerns about Laf right now. Heck, if we could trade Laf straight up for the 2022 number 1 pick by itself, which means Wright, I would do it in a heartbeat. Not that there's a chance of that happening. But a man can dream. And with both Kakko and Laf, it seemed like we were getting players, maybe not quite on par with Wright, but not far from it. And now.... perhaps not so much.

And yea, I am saying that Wright is probably the best prospect since McDavid and Matthews. Not in McDavid's tier, as I think he really has a tier all to himself. But right below that, maybe right under Matthews.

Anyway, that's my tangent for the day lol. Back to the guy who must have eaten nothing but horse meat all summer.
I’d rather trade it for the 2023 1st (Bedard) he has that “it” factor and is way more flashy and cocky which is what we lack. Kravtsov was perfect for what we were missing

Bedard is the opposite of Flashy. He's awesome, but LOL at this analysis.

Kravtsov is so confident and cocky that he dangled his way back to Russia after getting cut AGAIN. Can we stop trying to push this BS narrative?

He’s scored like 5 lacrosse goals, what are you talking about? He is one of the flashiest prospects ever lmao. I’m from very close to this guy and have watched him since his West Vancouver prep days.

And that’s how alpha Kravtsov is, he’ll tell Drury to eat his shorts lol

This is actually my bad, I thought you were talking about Wright.

And Krav is the opposite of Alpha (as is anyone who uses this word.) He's an immature baby who bolted when he didn't get his way.

To quote Elaine Benes from Seinfeld, you have a thing for this fella?

Not for nothing but Dach has been the more productive player in the NHL between the two, he's a better skater, really good hands and good vision. I don't see what Kakko has done to be considered ahead of him.
Has he? He scored the same amount of points as a rookie, was hurt all last season, and then yeah fine he has 3 points in 4 this year so far, centering the 1st line

If you adjust for TOI, he has. At 5v5 Dach has been at 1.45, 1.78, and 2. Kakko at 0.7, 1,28, 0. Obviously small sample for Dach last year and so far this year for he and Kakko but yes he has been more productive.

And he looked really good, had a bunch of legit scoring chances and was strong like bull. Those chances will start going in and the narrative will change.

Agree.

This was more about the “Dach playing on 1st line comment” to justify his production over kakko.

especially when Kakko has been playing with a top 9 player in NHL. That argument holds no water

kakko has been playing with Panarin and has 0 pts.

Let’s not use the 1st line excuse doesn’t really work here.
Because Panarin and Strome were so excellent in those two games they played together...

How pathetic is it to come take a jab at him when he's injured and hasn't had the proper chance to show anything yet?

Dach is a very good prospect. He’s got solid hands/vision and he’s a big boy. It wouldn’t surprise me if he has the better career offensively then Kakko.
I think the 2 main things with Kakko are his development and unrealistic expectations to some extent.
Kakko has come a long way in 2 years, but for a guy who was billed as NHL ready his draft year, he was a big let down.
With all the fan fare and analysis leading up to the draft and the kakko/Hughes debate, Dach kind of slipped under the radar a bit. I think he’s a better prospect then he gets credit for. Kudos to the hawks for realizing it and going off the board a bit.
As far as Hughes goes, just from watching him, Kakko will never be as dynamic offensively imo. You can tell the puck follows Hughes and the offensive flows thru his stick. He just has the better offensive instincts, hands, and vision imo.
Kakko is going to be a very very good Complete NHL wing. Basically a player every team would want in their to 6/9.
I don’t see the offensive output coming from Kakko that others see. He just doesn’t have that it factor with the puck on his stick. He’s got good hands and protects the puck well, I don’t want to say he’s more of a passenger offensively, because that’s not the right wording. But I guess for now I’ll say offensively, the game just doesn’t flow thru him. I think he’ll mainly be a 60-65 pt guy, few years floating in the low 70’s perhaps, but solid on all 200ft Of the ice.
I think it has a lot to do with speed. Not that kakko is slow per say, but so far, hughes/Dach do a better job at using their hands at full/high speed then kakko does currently. I think that’s the biggest difference on the offensive side.

I’m not taking a jab at him I think he’s shown a lot of progress.

I’m taking a jab at the comment that Dach has more points because he played on line 1.

That excuse holds no water, since Kakko is also playing with an elite player and arguably the most talented line.

would you say that Panarin - Strome would probably be on par if not better then Kane -Hagel?
