cap savings are more than that. but more importantly, rangers are making offsetting moves to bring guys in hfd camp onto taxi squad for a day. those guys aren't getting paid in camp (not sure how that worked out) but do get their ahl salaries on taxi squad so its something. going to guess these guys aren't caught by surprise with this - this was likely communicated well ahead of time. a lot of people on here jump to conclusions about things they don't know anything about to make it sound like this ghastly cheap orgasization using a loophole to save a couple thousand on off days at the expense of young players, because there is a giant conspiracy against kakko here, and if it weren't for quinn he'd have 30 points already too. the truth is its taking advantage of the rules in place this season where they can that let them spread compensation to guys who are really getting the short end of the stick. make what you will of it and the rules do suck, but thats the actual motive behind this.

Just noticed that there's no Kaapo on NYR roster or stats page at NHL.com/Rangers????
Is he traded or just normal messing with him??

Gotta be the stuff they're doing with moving guys to the taxi squad to save a couple thousand dollars of cap money. Libor Hajek and the third goalie Keith Kinkaid have been on the taxi squad forever, and their names aren't there.

But I don't know why Jonny Brodzinski (tremendous hockey name) is on that page.
