I find it interesting, that the Jets seem to always reclaim players they lost like Appleton, Comrie, and Kahkonen, and others. When the Jets scout someone, and they believe in him, they don't waver, and will claim him back if they lose him. The Jets stick to their guns, and are patient with players.

It also blocks our young players on the Moose.

The original plan was always for one of Milic/DDV to be a starter in the ECHL while the other splits starts in the AHL. I see this as the fulfillment of that plan. ECHL is a good league for a goalie to get lots of reps in. I don't see anyone being blocked unless they deploy Kahkonen as a starter which I don't think they will.

Don't see the point of this. Just seems like a waste of cash. You can always find an equivalent goalie if you need one later.

Except if you wait until you actually need one.

I believe Kaapo can now be sent down without waivers. Correct me if I am wrong.

Milic has struggled so send him to the ECHL to get his confidence back. Can still give DD lots of games with the Moose and give KK enough games to be ready if needed in the NHL.

I don't believe I ever referenced the cap implication. I just feel it's a waste of real money and still do.
The Moose record as the bottom feeders of the AHL (worst in central, 2nd worst in conference & 29th of all 32 teams) says otherwise.

We were also an injury away from either AHL rookie DiVincentiis getting or Milac, who has one of the worst GAA in the AHL, getting a call to the show.

I'll take a buried cap hit who has 140 NHL games under his belt over either of the above options.

If they don't waver, how do you explain the Jets claiming him on waivers?

Oh.....wait a minute....

The Moose record is due to goal scoring or lack there of (third last in the league). They are mid table in GA.so goaltending had been fine as a whole.

I think the plan was always to have a veteran goalie on the Moose and it eventually worked out that way.

Milic to the ECHL?
This would be my guess. Probably benefit him to drop down a league and get his confidence back.

It doesn't impact the cap, so it doesn't really matter, unless Chipman is asking us fans to chip in.

Puckpedia is another option. The 2 have their strengths and weaknesses.

I find CW easier to navigate. They keep making little improvements at a pretty good pace. OTOH they are sometimes a little slow to update some things. Getting better there too though.

I think by re-claiming KK the organization can now prioritize the development of DD. I'm making the assumption he is ahead of Milic at this point on the organizational depth chart (big if). He is a year younger and a couple inches taller, and looks to be winning the best goalie prospect race at the moment. If Milic gets sent to the ECHL, I think the Jets would like to give DD about 45-50 AHL games this season. That would put him in line with the # of starts he got on the OHL, against much better competition. Milic then could be the go do guy in the ECHL and get his games in. That would leave KK with 30 - 35 starts in the AHL backup role, enough to keep the rust off, if he was ever needed as a call up.
