That's what you thought he was saying?

Can't even find that conclusion between the lines.

Only if he has to be.

I do think he's a first unit power play player.
I asked him for clarification because I wasn't sure what his point was? He's saying that Brazeau wasn't playing in the top 6, but he's spent a lot of time with Marchand and Lindholm, which would be top 6, no? He also dismissed the PPTOI but then turned around and drew a parallel between Bergeron and Krejci's PP production, which would again indicate that he views Brazeau as more than a bottom 6 guy, no? So given those conflicting takes, I figured I'd ask rather than make my own conclusions on what his point was.

As for the bolded, we agree completely. Which was my point all along. If he's a top 6 player on your team, it means there are no better options, which means your team is short of top 6 guys and you're elevating bottom 6 players and hoping they produce.

what's the feeling on big braz? i'm probably one of his bigger fans, but seems like they are phasing him
out, moving him to 4th line recently. which leads you to believe they trade him versus signing him. too bad,
one of the few guys on this team that lives at the net.
I’m a fan too. Scratched him last game in favor of Patrick Brown. I get they’re in different roles and needed some PK help but he’s one of the forwards that’s been a consistent positive in terms of his work ethic and compete level.

I would re-sign him.

I'm still a fan. A little bit crowded in that middle-6 with a bunch of underperforming players.

If they had ability to play him every day on a 3rd line with Frederic and Coyle for example (assuming your top-6 is performing), I think he's a piece to keep. He's a load. A little 2nd unit PP time. I'd even argue he should've been given looks on the 1st unit as a net front guy.... At the same time, he's not moving the needle. I wonder what he's looking at $$$ wise.

Braz is a good foot solider for the middle 6. Produces at a decent clip when considering his ice-time and usage. He doesn't kill dudes but I think he's a solid checker who makes good, clean hits and hasn't forgotten that his size and strength is one of his best attributes.
His willingness to hit is only matched by Kastelic and Geekie at this point it seems. Rarely pulls away from finishing a hit. Unless the Bruins are trading for assets he should be back.

They stopped using him as net front on the PP consistently, big mistake. This is his biggest asset. His worth goes down from there.
Sacco is not a good coach.

Disagree, Brazeau has been one of the few positives on the bruins this year. Having said this ,he is a fringe Nhler. Maximize your return and trade him

Brazeau is a rather soft big guy. His hitting isn't consistent and any intimidation he may have, seems to only be in the shape of emotionless stare downs. His great on offense from the dots to behind the net. Somewhat hard to take the puck away from, but overall he should providing more that just the ability to play close to the opponents net.
Great story, but ultimately a higher end JAG, considering the opportunity he was given since the beginning of the year

I don't get it.

He's 6th on the team in goals scored. 6th among forwards in points scored. 2nd on the team in PP goals. All in limited minutes on a team that can't score.

No one should be arguing that he doesn't move the needle. We are talking about a player that suddenly seems to be cast aside for no (known) reason. He's slow, yes. But he's also responsible defensively and makes smart plays all over the ice. Frederic has only 7 assists, 3 have come on Brazeau goals.

I don't get it.

I think I'd resign him as well. This is his first full NHL season and he's a scoring at nearly a 20 goal pace. Still young, no reason to think he won't get better in the next few years, especially given his hockey IQ and work ethic.

Though if another team really likes him and he can be part of a package for a top 6 skilled guy, that's probably a no brainer.

Maybe he is battling through some kind of injury? He's back in today for Brown. Perhaps the periodic scratches and lower minutes reflect that. Who knows, but I can't think of another reason he suddenly ended up in the doghouse on a team that has had several players playing far worse that got passes.

I'm also still a fan of him and I think he's a perfect a 3rd liner for us. He can create some mismatches on lower lines. He seems to create chances every time we are in the o-zone, it's pretty impressive to see, and I'm still thinking he should get some PP time.

I'd like to keep him, besides I don't think that he gets you much in the way of assets anyway, and probably doesn't take much cap space to keep
