I think Barron will surprise many this year. Low cap hit for a RHD puck mover.... I mean he is only 27.
Two years? He needs waivers this upcoming seasons and he couldn't crack the worst RD in the league despite numerous chances.

Barron answering questions on his new deal in between returning some videotapes and his dinner date at Dorsia.
The second was used to move up from 26th to 21st this year and grab Hage .which player turned out to be the 2nd?

agreed. but the cant sign all these picks. KH will move at some point

If I’m not mistaken it was the second we traded this year to move up and draft Hageagreed. but the cant sign all these picks. KH will move at some point

It was the 2nd in question. If I’m not mistaken it was the second we traded this year to move up and draft Hage
We'll try to spend it on a 'buy low' forward candidate with a short contract during the offseason, if not we might wait until the trade deadline to see where we're at. If we're competing for a playoff spot then we might pick up a good player, if not then maybe a cap dump to get more draft assets. They’ll have to, it’s not « if », unless you want Price to comeback and take a roster spot.
They just don’t have to do it in the summer.
Speaking of which, do we play the whole season with 16 millions in cap space? That would be surprising.
Agree - cost certainty enabling a tradeHis last deal with the Habs.
There is no need to put him on it now if it's not used, they can put him on it the moment a trade is happening that requires it. But there is no team who needs to dump big salary to be under the cap at season start. The teams going beyond the cap have their own LTIR options.Out of curiosity, is there any reason not to put Price on LTIR and have the opportunity to weaponize that cap space?
JB has some great tools to work with, can dazzle at times with his offensive ability, and leave you scratching your head with some of his defensive mistakes. Like Xhekaj he needs to find some consistency in his game and with so many young players on the way, pressure will be on both of them to put things together over the next two seasons.
That’s actually a good comparisonJeff Petry takes times to being good D-man. I see the same thing with Justin Barron.
Getting the house in order, planing a couple years in advance and showing great foresight. I appreciate good management, we may be getting somewhere.Hughes is on fire. Everyone is signed. Still have a good chunk of cap space left
Xhekaj/Harris/Struble have played both sides, and this further proves my point. Barron couldn't crack the worst RD in the league despite having so many chances. Not sure how it's going to be any easier when guys like Mailloux/Reinbacher could pass him soon.We have alot of LDs but not much on the right
If he doesn't come into camp like a man on a mission, he's going to be the 7/8 dman. If Reinbacher/Mailloux are ready sooner rather than later, he's pretty much gone, that's why I don't understand the two years we gave him. He's still a B+ prospect. His problem isn't much the guys in front of him but the bunch of A/A+ prospects coming from behind. He obviously doesn't have an infinite amount of time to figures it out because of that, but it's his job to lose for now, so it's up to him to hold to this opportunity.
sarcasm...he is only 22 but he gets a lot of hate for someone of that ripe old age.
Roger! Agreed! On this board I can no longer tell what is sarcasm or what isn'tsarcasm...he is only 22 but he gets a lot of hate for someone of that ripe old age.
That’s actually a good comparison
We also got the 2nd, that he traded this year to LA to move up in the draft to select Hage. The Lehkonen trade was fine. There was nothing wrong with the logic of trading Lehky for Barron, it was sound. Barron also has time to figure it out to pay dividends on the bet. He has a lot of appreciative tools. Even if it ultimately fails, the thought process was fine.
Reinbacher needs to pass him if not thats a big fail on management and who knows what we have with Mailloux hes still a mess defensively they are only one year apart Barron is still very young and has some good tools a 2 year contract at 1.15 will have zero effect on our cap its a good signing its now on him to show up to camp readyXhekaj/Harris/Struble have played both sides, and this further proves my point. Barron couldn't crack the worst RD in the league despite having so many chances. Not sure how it's going to be any easier when guys like Mailloux/Reinbacher could pass him soon.
