Barron going down is a good move. Kid is too slow with his decision making in the defensive zone. It's just brutal.

I doubt they recall Xhekaj. This just puts Kovacevic back into lineup.

Roy looks to be staying for a bit. That's good. Kid has been decent. Pearson is probably back against Ottawa and maybe Pezz moves to center?

22 man roster

Caufield-Suzuki-Slafkovsky
Roy-Monahan-Armia
RHP-Evans-Anderson
Pearson-Pezzetta-Gallagher
Ylonen

Matheson-Guhle
Struble-Savard
Harris-Kovacevic

Montembeault
Allen
Primeau

I’d prefer Roy in the AHL.

Harris needs waivers. Barron, struble and Xhekaj are going to rise buses as a result.

Kind of surprised they didn't just send rhp to get back to form, he's still waiver exempt.

Barebones roster makes me think a move is coming after Stephens clears.

9th in points over that span, 8th in forward ice time. He was expected to be in a top six role to start the season and can't even crack it with the injuries we have. It's not too farfetched to suggest he should play a top six role in Laval for a week or two while Hughes wheels and deals rather than risk losing a center when we have no depth.

Who expected RHP to be top 6? RHP is a great third line player. A good defensive player and terrific penalty killer who can contribute from time to time on offense. Even when playing with Gallagher and Evans not exactly two offensive studs, his line controls puck possession and cycles.

Our top 6 to start the season was:

Suzuki
Caufield
Slaf
Newhook
Dach
Monahan

Who are you replacing there "to start the season". Monahan wasn't a center to start the season, he was shifted when Dach got injured. RHP is who he is supposed to be.

I am thinking they might get Kovacevic in as a regular and look to trade him at the deadline to clear room on D. This will let Xhekaj/Barron play a ton in the AHL, and maybe they just call up someone like Beaudin/Norlinder here to sit in the pressbox.

It’s a black eye on this management for sure.

You really just have one of our best forwards only play 2 games this WHOLE year???
I don't get why you think that's management's doing. You disagree with the trade, that's another story. I mean Dach has never played a full season in the league, ever.

Therein lies the issue. He has battled injuries and can't seem to have any luck staying healthy and now he's recovering from a big knee surgery. 5 years in the league and only 212 games to show for it which has slowed his development. I like the way he plays but his body is starting to show the miles and he's only 23.
