...would be freakin' hilarious to watch Miller throw a "questionable" hit on Petey... 🤣
You gotta think that it's in the Canucks best interests to not have their top two forwards trying to destroy each other on the 17th by moving one or both out.

Don't see how the coaches of these teams also don't give the fans what they want and have them facing each other on opening face-off.

How the f*** did the Canucks go from 1 game from the WCF to this shit show

Somebody needed to fix this shit way earlier.

Pettersson stories about not taking the playoffs seriously last year + his shit play this year would make me hate him if I were a canucks fan

Miller also has been hated by the nucks and been on the trade block several times in his tenure. He hasmt won anything yet so he had to shut up and deliver as well.

You don't know that though. It might be all Miller (likely), or all Pettersson (doubtful).
No, we do know. It's not "all one" person -- because that person would be traded. There's a division. Other than Hughes, these are the two most impactful players in the organization... if the entire room was on the side of "Team Pettersson" per se... Miller would have been traded long ago... even if they had to lose a deal significantly.

There's zero chance the Canucks let one bad apple (say Miller) run the team into the ground, and create all this drama if he was a lone wolf without support inside the room.

One of them is going, if not now then the off season.

...you HAVE to make a move, it's that simple...when the President of Hockey Ops for your franchise publicly states that things are untenable as they exist now, then the Shyte has hit said fan...

...exactly...Miller might be the Super-Intense type guy that rubs the wrong way, but if it was just THAT that was said problem, he'd have been gone...it's an issue that is more than just "one guy is upsetting the Apple Cart"...let's not just let Pettersson off the hook here, either...

I don't understand how so many people can leave so many comments on this topic.

What else can be said at this point?

This is approaching JVR levels of attention.

Of course, it is. If it were just one player causing trouble, the captain would have warned him, then the coach would have handled him, and if those failed, the GM would have traded him quickly.

...my take (and probably a bad one, but oh well): Hughes and Tocchet are in Camp Miller and management is in Camp Pettersson cuz they have soo much invested in him...

Canucks just gotta remain patient here, a GM will eventually get desperate and give them the right package. Whether that's a week from now or in the summer who knows.

Without going through 12 pages, has anyone mentioned JR’s meltdown might be happening because they have better offers from teams he won’t waive for and this thing from JR is meant to pressure JTM to be open to more destinations?
I think ownership reluctance to trade is far more likely. Or the owner has requested a similar player back or something equally daft.

Not the first time this decade the team has been 1 win away from the WCF then collapsed the next year lol.

...yup, marvelous idea to keep the toxicity level in the dressing room at an all-time high...that's winning hockey, baby!!... :thumbu:

Let's not pretend that a team didn't win the Cup while their video coach was raping one of their players.

Whatever is going on in Vancouver probably isn't THAT bad.

They need to move Pettersson before his NMC clause kicks in this offseason. Once that happens, his value is all but gone as I'm sure he'd be pulling a Kesler and willing to go to maybe 1 or 2 teams. Right now he's ideal for a small market team that has problems attracting free agents like the Sabres or the Jets. I think a few teams would give up quite a bit for him as it's likely he'll bounce back when he gets a new start. Miller, on the other hand, has already started to decline. I don't think he'll ever be a 100 point player again.
