During the season? If EDM still wants to go for it this year, something like this:
Raymond, Perron, Husso, one of Maatta/Petry/Chiarot/Holl, 2025 1st, one of Kasper/Danielson, and one of Wallinder/Johansson.
Wings get Draisaitl and Campbell as a cap dump. Wings hope Campbell can be respectable again or just buy him out at the end of the year.

Yeah Draisatl is 100% a pipe dream, there is absolutely no way.
But hey, Pettersson is just sitting there and vancouver is beeeeegggging for a second D pair with Petry on it.

This may be ignorant and I'm cool with owning it, but how effective is Draisatl without McDavid (5v5 and PP). I am assuming PP is always with mcdavid, but how often are they together on 5v5? And how is Draisatl's scoring on 5v5? I assume we have suitable players throughout our lineup that could replicate his current wingers in some fashion (whether that is larkin, raymond, dbc, etc. regardless of position is what I am saying).
Always was intrigued by draisatl but I keep him with mcdavid in the same breath and would love to separate them if it is possible.
I ask all this because I forgot the website that has all players and can show the with/without x player on their line.

I'd offer Kasper for Draisaitl. We might have to add a little, but I'd do it.

I say we collectively bring this up in a new thread proposal on the main boards. Can't possibly think of any other sane individuals to propose this too.
We may need to add perron and/or petry, but let's keep that in our back pocket for negotiation tactics. Cool?

campbell just put on waivers, so need another cap dump apparently lol
well I can't imagine anyone even seriously considers claiming him
waiving him is interesting though....I guess they figure he's been so bad that they might as well just stick him in the AHL for a while and hope he gets back on track a little bit?

well i was surfin the waived thread and it looks like cal picard had like a .940% in ahl so they are planning to bring him up. So that would have to mean they are burying him in ahl. Doesn't help their cap that much so it's obviously a wake up call situation.
I can only assume that holland called around and said hey do you want a goalie, what would you trade for campbell to all the teams and they all said no.

you got to give to get....but that edvinsson add just hurts.
If there is no extension then it would obviously be asinine. Would also change danielson to kasper, just evaluate danielson higher than kasper (with no real reason why mind you).
The other thing people need to take into consideration that just hit me is we are not just getting draisatl and losing these assets, we are also bringing the players that want to play with draisatl but never could because edmonton never has cap room. So, and yes I am just spitballing here, does kyle connor want to have draisatl as his center (yes it would be another trade, but for example purposes)? What about nylander (obviously if he doesn't resign with TOR and this draisatl trade would occur mid season this year before nylander makes a final decision). What about stamkos? cough-pettersson-cough.
So it sucks to even entertain the idea of the quote above and those players, but have to think that at least ONE of the guys I mentioned or of same caliber would see redwings moving up in the world and want to play with star caliber players like draisatl...still don't think I would include edvinsson but w.e

I've never fully understood why pending free agents go the trade and sign route. I know if you don't have a no trade clause you don't necessarily have a say. But If I'm Draisaitl, and I am going to sign with a team, I wouldn't want them to give up a bunch of assets to get me. I know it's not that simple but just a thought I've always had.

So acquiring Draistl somehow makes Burger a first line player when he can't even hold a roster spot right now? And on top of that, current 4C Raz jumps to second line winger? Kostin who has no points jumps to 3rd line? Ghost and Chiarot both switch sides?

This is like Ricelund is over here building a spaceship and you're nitpicking the color of the paint. You know, something easily changeable and not at all the purpose of the exercise (reminder: just for fun Draisaitl trade).

Really depends on how much Draisaitl wants to resign for. I think I’d pass cause the players we lose would set us back too much. Plus we’re losing 2 ELCs and 1 RFA for somebody who will play out the bulk of the contract in his 30s. Don’t like that.

I think putting an AHLer on the top line is more than trivial detail, lol.
And ironically enough, the color of spaceship actually does matter. They are always painted white. You can Google why.
