This guy have mentality to be a difference maker.

He have the talent, to be a difference maker.

He have all things to become a difference maker.

He just need to play like he do right now in first half of season next year and he will have a great production.

Everyone speak about Demidov and Hutson, but Slaf aswell can be a very special player.

The ending is my favorite part

Sorry for the portrait mode , only way I could clip this was on my phone. 2 big body retrievals , a couple crisp passes. And eats up 3 sabres on him at the end like its nothing
Oh shit thanks! Wow what a beast. He’ll put it together and drive teams crazy

o_O

The 27 hits is 2nd in the league in those 5 games. Kiefer Sherwood is 1st with 29.
The thing I learned about hits this year is the NHL only calls it a hit if the player being hit loses possession of the puck. That's a ton of opportunities to turn over the puck he's generated recently. He also has other physicality that doesn't meet this definition.

Since 4 nations he has 3 goals, 2 assists, 15 shots, and 27 hits in 5 games. This is how we should want him to play.
Slaf haters have gone quiet again. Good!
No one hated the selection or has a lower view of the player, his skills, and the developmental path he has been walking, than me, but he's been playing incredibly well.

Given that it's incongruous with the totality of his work, and players generally do not reinvent their games long-term, it's doubtful that he will continue to do so, but if he does, then that's fantastic, and he'll be a valuable core piece due to a complete transformation in terms of playstyle.

What exactly do you want "haters" (sane people who actually judge the player based on his performances, I assume that you mean) to say other than "he's played well for the last [X] games" or some such if they wanted to go into greater detail?

They want to dish insults out every time Slaf has a hot streak and also to be free to feign offence and grievous insult every time Slaf is criticized for his performances.

Basically, to hit at the fans who have a different perspective both when Slaf is doing well and when he’s not doing well.

Like this, they position themselves as Smart & Good Fans and everyone else as Haters/Punching Bags.

I don’t think anyone realizes Slafkovksy’s elevation to a better player would mean this dynamic would entirely end and disappear.

Slafkovsky isn't reinventing his game. He's a 20-year-old who's still inventing it. His current strong performance is similar to his second half last season, therefore what we're seeing isn't an incongruous blip; it's consistent with the player he already was and could be full time.

Exactly! The peaks and valleys or Blips and Dips are all part of a big 20 year old forward becoming the player he is meant to be. The blips and peaks give us a glimpse into his future potential. 70-90 point power forward in his prime.

When he plays like thism he's a unicorn for sure. just playing devil's advocate here, M. and B. Tkachuk, Svechnikov, Kreider, Tuch, Knies, Holloway maybe
Ovechkin and Tom Wilson as well , very rare player type no doubt , outside of the Tkachuks , Ovi and maybe Svech I don't see why he couldn't produce more than the others as he gets older and stronger

People can use the Power Forward moniker or not. He certainly falls in the Wikipedia definition which is probably the same as the average hockey fan:

In ice hockey, power forward (PWF) is a loosely applied characterization of a forwardwho is big and strong, equally capable of playing physically or scoring goals and would most likely have high totals in both points and penalties.
It is usually used in reference to a forward who is physically large, with the toughness to dig the puck out of the corners, possesses offensive instincts, has mobility, puck-handling skills, may be difficult to knock off the puck or to push away from the front of the goal,
and willingly engage in fights when he feels it is required.

A regular skilled forward peaks much earlier than a PowerForward, because of elements like strength, size and weight in order to not being pushed off the puck, away from the front of the net or in order to power along the boards. Enough to make a huge difference in their development curve, because it comes much later than skills, hockey sense and speed.

For example, Slaf 1OA 2022 will have a big boost at 23 years old that will rise until 26 to maintenance until 30+. But Bedard 1OA 2023, while he gets some advantage for physical growth, it’s tiny in comparison because his game is not built on his size.

All his goals are so grimey.

It will be interesting how he does now that there is a glimmer of hope that they can make the playoffs.

Many said they would pick Fantilli and Carlsson before Slaf.

Carlsson is on pace for 38 points in his second season.
Fantilli is on pace for 51 points in his second season.

Slaf posted 20 goals and 30 assists in his second season.

He’ll be fin as hell.

They could very well end up being better but so many here were acting like they were orders of magnitude better than Slaf and that was just nonsense.

I don’t know what he’ll end up as but I think he has lots of room to be much improved. Vastly underrated tools. And his floor seems to be a complimentary 1st liner
