Heh.

Anyway watch the intro clip. I think it is hard to argue that anyone sitting on the corners doesn't have a better view than a big single offers.

Now that you tanked for Bedard, I bet you'll be getting a new one sooner than later
We just got it a few years ago is what I meant. It’s an distraction how big it is, takes you away from what’s going on

Pfft NHL needs an oculus:

This is the pinnacle. At least until we can do 3D holograms

Here's a shot I took from my first Kraken home game in April 2022 - it took a bit to get used to (from my seat, there was an obvious one to watch but I kept getting distracted by the other one).

Halfway through the game I was too pissed at the Golden Knights to worry about the jumbotrons, and I got used to watching the closer one. It's a cool concept (and yes, it's because of the roof shape).

The tentacle with ice shards never made much sense to me until now. Very Instagrammable when you see it in a still photo.

I think NJ still has the largest Jumbotron in the NHL - much rather have that than 2 smaller ones.

I prefer a single screen -> no ice..

At home in my living room.

But yeah they're all fine I guess. My preference was always the crappy digital score tucked away in section 200 something where you had to search to find the timeouts / pitch count / whatever. The massive screens all date themselves quite quickly (like nav in a car) and only serve as a vessel for stupid timeout and intermission antics. I'll watch the play in front of me.

Caps have a good one. When I get gifted rich people seats, the inner ring video screen is pretty cool. When i buy seats in the 400s, the big screen is a life saver.

The whole arena is light linked up and it gets intense, havent been to other stadiums in ages so no reference but the Caps one is pretty, pretty, pretty good.

it is quite large and, like all of these, I absolutely f***ing hate it. seriously. f*** that f***ing thing. that shit sucks ass.

I'm usually a second-level denizen, and I can't tell you how hard it is for me to actually focus on the ice at Prudential. for me, being eye level with that piece of shit is basically a migraine cocktail. the LEDs are SO MUCH BRIGHTER AND WHITER than the house lights that it's an actual strain to watch the game happening beneath it. I can't believe more people don't bitch about these things. they're awful.

Climate Pledge Arena's space between the screens looks like a good place to hang banners. Until they earn achievements that warrant banners, they could put a big marquee banner that says, "Don't Waste Electricity, CHUDS"
