There was never a trade for Miller for Schneider, did you just make that up?
lol fellow Gen Xer spottedAlso is it true that EP40 gets bullied by JT Miller? Like why don't they just scrap and settle things themselves?
Value aside, I think there's also the chance that Miller continues to sink his value if you wait. I think we're all expecting him to bounce back here, but what if that doesn't happen? What if it's another 2 goals in 15+ games? What if the issues get even worse? What if this causes Vancouver to miss the playoffs? There's a lot of risk in "Meet our price or we wait." It's not a good situation for Vancouver and one could argue it might even be best to get out of this as soon as possible. The only really confirmed offer we've heard about is :
1st, Chytil , Sykora.
IF thats the case, Miller isnt going to be traded until the summer.
No way the Canucks are moving him for that price. He would have been traded by now if thats all it takes.
There's literally no reason for the Canucks to come down on their price especially when they will have more suitors in the summer.
So either these teams meet their price now, or lets not trade him till summer.
Is the Canucks brass really going to accept the status quo of the team and the surrounding atmosphere? So the Canucks just keep him until the end of the year and see what the market looks like once more teams have cap.
Miller for Chytyl, Lindgren and Sykora. No 1st, no retention. Vancouver flips Lindgren for whatever they can get at the deadline. That’s probably what they’re looking at right now.
Apparently so . Appears they would rather sit tight than give Miller away and I don’t blame them . Makes things boring for us and must be very frustrating for Canuck fans but I understand why they wouldn’t trade him for a crap return. I’d prefer that Miller stayed at that point and hope that everyone gets over their pouting if I was the Nucks GM . I’m not ruining my team and their future over someone being a pouty pants lol . If there was a “ fair “ return , then so be it . Get ‘er done . But that must not be the case . This season may be lost because of all of this crap , but why ruin more seasons to come by getting a pile of Meh in return for one if your best players ? Ride it out at this point . Try to talk some sense into people and straighten things out later . Don’t just give away a player just because currently it is effecting them negatively . Dumping Miller for a crap return does more harm than keeping fur longer term than just keeping him and trying to solve things internally IMOIs the Canucks brass really going to accept the status quo of the team and the surrounding atmosphere?
They are 1 point out of the playoffs. They need to add a dman or 2, but aren't going to make a deal on Miller that doesn't make sense. If they were, he would have been gone by now.Is the Canucks brass really going to accept the status quo of the team and the surrounding atmosphere?
Apparently so? It appears quite contrary to that. From all the messaging that the GM has made in his public appearances, to the fact that the insiders are reporting that the NY deal basically fell through because of miniscule details in pick conditions, tell me that the Canucks are absolutely trying to make the move NOW. It's not like they are signalling teams "we are listening on Miller", it's about "we want to move Miller but try not to get completely hosed".Apparently so.
If they were willing to wait until the summer, there wouldn't even be discussions about the trade right now, let alone reports that the deal was almost at the finish line. Get serious. They are 1 point out of the playoffs. They need to add a dman or 2, but aren't going to make a deal on Miller that doesn't make sense. If they were, he would have been gone by now.
It makes no sense for the rangers. I get why that would be who van targeted, and they have every right to make that, or anything, their price. The rangers would be adding jt as a win-now move. Any chance of that actually panning out involves laf being a big part too. They aren’t doing all that much to their chances of winning now by adding jt by subtracting laf. They require both on the team for the roster to have a chance. If laf is the price, the rangers would move on, and that’s fine. I can’t imagine van thinks he’s in play though, esp if they’re still talkingLafreniere for Miller
It makes so much sense. Lafreniere is the same age as most of the core which means no rebuild as the owners don't want to rebuild more of which contend. Also, Lafreniere's agent is there. Also Miller is closer in age to the Rangers core and can fill in as captain thus leading them to contention faster.
But overall, make sure Miller is traded to a team with players much closer to his age. That's why Carolina makes more sense.
What are you talking about? Of course they can discuss a trade now and hold off if they don't get an offer that works. Just because you discuss a trade, doesn't mean you have to make it.Apparently so? It appears quite contrary to that. you're out to lunch if you think package will land you a top 2 center power forward coming off a 100 point season. You are buying low I get it but the Rangers asking the canucks to retain is asinine .Uh... no.
That was apparently the ask by Vancouver and the Rangers were the ones who said no, they wanted to attach conditions to the pick or have a sweetner added by Vancouver. This has been widely reported.
Canucks fans are out to lunch.
I mean... We already know the offer was close... Not sure why Canucks fans think it's going to change so drastically.you're out to lunch if you think package will land you a top 2 center power forward coming off a 100 point season. Cool... so everyone is happy...
Except most of Vancouver's roster.
This should end well.
Looking at the offers they have little other choice than to see if it works its way out. Shooting out your own leg to make a trade is not benefitting the team.Is the Canucks brass really going to accept the status quo of the team and the surrounding atmosphere?
AFAIK any playoff team in active trade discussions about their 1C is gonna create a lot of chatter, so I don’t see how the media is at fault here?Media is creating the distraction and it would die down with a win over the Oilers tonight that rallies the team together.
I just think Petterson defeating his bully would be great character development for the young manlol fellow Gen Xer spotted
retaining was a none starter, if we trade him we are losing the trade that is known.I mean... We already know the offer was close... Not sure why Canucks fans think it's going to change so drastically.
I see Kotkaniemi as negative to neutral value , Roslovic is a dime a dozen. So its basically Nikishin for Miller in terms of value which I am not sure if that makes sense or not.JT.Miller ($8,000,000)
for
Kotkaniemi ($4,820,000)
Roslovic ($2,800,000)
Nikishin (LD)
$7,620,000
His age and contract aren't ideal, but I wouldn't worry about the shit offers. That's the norm around here.Maybe not a cancer but there's obviously something up with him.
He wasn't traded the last time he was avaliable and offers are still shit now despite his on ice track record.
That final name is the interesting one.JT.Miller ($8,000,000)
